The theme for this photoshoot centered around Marisa engrossed in magical research. To recreate that vintage, enigmatic aura, we invested considerable thought into dressing the set. The table was draped in deep crimson velvet, laid out with weathered parchment letters, a brass telescope, an armillary sphere, and scattered multicolored glass crystals and gemstones. Most people know Marisa as a fiery spirit tearing through the skies on her broomstick, but this time I wanted to capture her quieter side—those focused, tranquil moments inside her magical workshop, poring over ancient grimoires and concocting potions.

Wardrobe-wise, this black-and-white checkered dress is packed with exquisite details. The oversized checkered bow across the chest, anchored by a golden cross pendant, radiates a distinct vintage gothic charm. The cascading tiers of white lace and ruffles at the cuffs highlighted the rich textural contrast beautifully under the lights. For the headpiece, an ornate wide-brimmed witch hat was trimmed with delicate lace along the rim and crowned with a small cross, perfectly echoing her magician motif. Wearing this hat demanded extra mindfulness: because the brim is so wide, looking down to read easily cast shadows over my face, requiring subtle micro-adjustments of head angles for every shot.

The brass telescope and armillary sphere prepared by the prop team offered phenomenal tactile quality; holding them in hand carried genuine heft that instantly drew me into character. The small glass vial I held was filled simply with water, yet under warm directional spotlighting, it refracted a glistening sheen that looked just like an enchanted potion. Prop arrangement was equally deliberate: placing the quill pen diagonally across the parchment, stacking leather-bound books in structured disarray, and coordinating the hues of scattered gems against the dark crimson cloth—these subtle touches truly breathed narrative life into the composition.

To match the character's blonde hair, I selected a wig with a natural luster, styling it into side braids draped over the shoulders. For makeup, aiming for an exquisite porcelain doll texture, I kept the foundation porcelain-pale, accentuating the eyelashes and eyeliner to pair with a focused, subtly contemplative gaze—hoping to project a composed stillness distinctly different from Marisa's everyday persona.

The lighting setup was particularly unique: the photographer opted for expansive low-key darkness, casting only a single beam of warm side-light across the subject and tabletop props to carve out dramatic chiaroscuro contrast. This Rembrandt-esque lighting subdued the ambient environment, focusing visual attention entirely on the act of reading ancient tomes and weaving spells. To honor this lighting design, I had to keep my posture steady while seated upright at the desk; though physically demanding, beholding the final chiaroscuro cuts made every bit of effort well worth it. Inspecting the potion vial against the faint beam or bowing my head in quiet contemplation, every pose was an earnest effort to bring the everyday life of that 'ordinary magician' tucked away in her magic shop into reality.
