For this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu cosplay photoshoot featuring her swimsuit design, the natural summer atmosphere of the coastal venue was essential, with wooden crates and a blue-and-white lifebuoy serving as the perfect props. The Sailor suit style swimsuit—combining an off-the-shoulder white top with a pink bow—required constant attention, particularly the ruffled bloomer shorts which shifted easily when shifting between sitting and standing poses on the sand. The wig featured pink Twintails, which took effort to manage against the ocean breeze and humid mist to maintain volume and shape. During shooting, the photographer guided me to leverage the height of the wooden crate to elongate leg lines; my personal favorites are the frames seated on the box with arms gently outstretched, where sunlight highlights translucent skin tones. For the standing pose holding the swim ring, maintaining a flexed tiptoe position to complement lighting and framing caused some calf fatigue over extended takes. Intense sunlight made gaze control the greatest hurdle, requiring careful positioning near parasol shadows to catch proper bounce light without squinting or casting harsh facial shadows. In post-processing, we highlighted fair, glowing skin textures while subduing background contrast to make the white outfit pop. Keeping with the character's fresh, lively aesthetic, color saturation was kept gentle rather than overly vivid. The smooth synergy with the photographer across poses and angles made this Beach photoshoot a gratifying and polished experience.
