[Kohane Azusawa cosplay] Project Sekai Classroom Uniform and Pose Reference Recreation

Today's set was shot against a pure white studio cyclorama, featuring Kohane Azusawa from Project Sekai. For the wardrobe, I chose the classic light grey long-sleeve Sailor suit, complete with a white sailor collar trimmed with three white stripes at the cuffs, while the bright crimson neckerchief served as the visual focal point of the composition. A lot of preparation went into perfecting the outfit's silhouette beforehand; the pleats of the pleated skirt had to be pressed razor-sharp to maintain crisp, three-dimensional definition under studio lighting. The wig consists of soft blonde twintails, with the bangs trimmed and the tips curled inward to stay faithful to the character's original design.

For the makeup, focus was centered primarily on the eyes. A generous wash of pink-toned eyeshadow was blended out and layered with polarized glitter, while blush was dusted beneath the eyes and over the tip of the nose to evoke a slightly flushed, delicate anime doll effect. The base makeup aimed for a fair, translucent finish paired with a natural soft-red lip. The entire makeup look was tailored to reflect her shy, slightly hesitant personality.

The studio was arranged with classic school elements: the desk and chair featured natural wood tops with white metal legs, and a navy canvas schoolbag hung from the desk's side bar. The props were rearranged multiple times to provide clear environmental context without overpowering the frame. This shoot drew inspiration from pose references by @RisingAirflow-kun. To recreate the stances, I experimented with several variations. The first photo features a frontal standing pose, hands gently balled into fists against the chest with shoulders hunched slightly inward and weight centered evenly. The second captures a side profile, leaning the torso slightly forward with one hand resting at the collar while bending the other knee, toe poised on the ground. Turning back over the shoulder neatly accentuated the waistline, while the A-line flared silhouette of the pleated skirt visually elongated the legs.

To complement this Classroom uniform, the lower half featured black knee-high Stockings. The classic zettai ryouiki formed between the tops of the knee-highs and the skirt hem is a timeless anime aesthetic staple. This combination adheres to the canonical design while flattering the calf contours. On my feet were glossy black leather penny loafers, whose chunky platform soles anchored the look without feeling top-heavy.

Studio lighting was kept softly diffused overall, but for the over-the-shoulder turn, side-backlighting cleanly traced the hair's outer halo and the folds in the fabric. Grey tones easily absorb light, so the photographer took extra care with frontal fill to preserve subtle gradations across the garment, letting the saturated red tie pop vividly against the frame. The sailor collar's cut and shoulder seams test tailoring quality; this top featured soft, natural shoulder lines without stiff shoulder pads, capturing the relaxed fit of an everyday school uniform.

The entire shoot went exceptionally smoothly. Having clear pose references saved considerable trial-and-error on set. When executing the poses, paying attention to the wrist curve, knee bend, and subtle shifts in balance made all the difference between stiff and organic results. Relying on authentic garment texture and bodily poise rather than intricate props carried the imagery.
