When doing this Yoimiya cosplay featuring the Resplendent Feast Series: Yoimiya from Genshin Impact, the costume's rich layering was the first thing I considered. The bandeau-style top is dominated by vibrant orange, accented with several dimensional red roses across the chest, while golden embroidery and metallic chains at the waist give the overall styling an extraordinarily luxurious feel. To complement the texture of this outfit, I specifically selected semi-translucent lantern sleeves with subtle shimmer, which produced a lovely specular effect under the convention center's illumination. The skirt features a two-tiered structure: the inner layer is a multi-tiered light blue mini skirt bordered with orange piping, while the outer layer is a long orange train with subtle diamond jacquard weave. This design naturally creates graceful sweeping arcs during movement, so when shooting full-body portraits, I deliberately lifted the skirt hem to let the overall silhouette expand expansively. The black patent-leather high heels on my feet were also chosen to elongate leg contours and balance bodily proportions before the lens.
This Convention photography shoot took place at a large exhibition center. The venue's metallic truss ceiling and skylight architecture actually provided wonderful natural daylight. Although there were some exhibitor tables, chairs, and staff in the background, the close-up in Photo 2 employed a shallow depth of field to blur the backdrop, centering the visual focus squarely on the character's upper body and facial details.
For hair and makeup, to faithfully recreate the character's aesthetic in this Anime cosplay, I styled the ends of the golden-blonde wig with wavy curls, repeatedly fastening and tuning the red ribbon on the right and the silver-white bead tassel on the left to ensure they wouldn't lose shape during poses. For makeup, I used golden-brown colored contacts to heighten the eyes' radiance, paired with orange-toned lip makeup, striving to project a warm, lively aura. A red floral ornament was also added to the chest for richer detail.
Regarding pose design, for the first full-body standing shot, I chose a subtle three-quarter angle: my left hand twirled a strand of hair while my right hand lifted the outer orange tulle, resting my weight on the right leg. This pose not only showcased the outfit's complete tailoring, but also made leg lines appear more elongated. The second photo adopted a two-handed heart gesture paired with a tilted-head smile, aiming to bring out the character's infectious warmth and approachable charm.
The Resplendent Feast Series: Yoimiya costume from Genshin Impact inherently embodies an intertwining of splendor and emotional warmth—fitting the motif that fireworks are fleeting, yet human warmth endures. At the convention, many friends recognized the look and shared their love for this design. Cosplay to me is far more than just slipping into a character's attire; it lies in experiencing and articulating nuances from the finest details. From gearing up and down to posing naturally before the lens, every link demands heartfelt dedication. Thank you to photographer @老默爱吃鱼 for capturing the interplay of light and shadow, preserving these moments so beautifully. Every cosplay is a unique journey: treating every costume with sincerity and relishing the process of portraying a character before the camera is what makes this time truly meaningful.
