[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] Afternoon daily life playing guitar on tatami

This time I cosplayed Takanashi Hoshino from Blue Archive, changing into that classic white T-shirt with blue trim and dark blue athletic shorts, paired with white over-the-knee socks. To be honest, this Daily outfit really has a youthful student feel, but while taking photos I was constantly thinking about how to capture a lazy yet playful tone.

When I got the wig, I thought the pink hair color was quite bright, but wearing it turned out surprisingly flattering for my skin tone. Once the side ponytail was tied, it instantly created that maiden-like charm. The photographer had me sit on the tatami mat, with Japanese sliding doors in the background and a black wooden guitar standing alongside, making the whole scene feel like relaxing in my own room. I tried leaning back on my hands with my legs naturally bent and extended; this posture not only flattered body proportions but also elongated the lines of the white over-the-knee socks.

Because people previously commented on round cheeks or thick legs in edited photos, I specifically adjusted angles before shooting, letting light hit from the side so facial contours would look more defined and hair highlights remained natural. Though post-processing included subtle skin smoothing, I kept authentic skin textures to avoid looking overly artificial. White socks can easily look unflattering, so I paid extra attention to the elastic folds at the sock cuffs, and the resulting effect was quite satisfying.

Honestly, every cosplay is quite physical, as maintaining a pose without looking stiff while managing facial expressions takes effort. Fortunately, my condition was great that day, and my gaze felt relaxed when smiling at the camera. The guitar was just a prop—I don't actually know how to play—but fiddling with it to pretend was pretty fun.

This outfit has few accessories; the focus is on a clean, neat aesthetic. Without overly complex adornments, it actually highlights the character's lively nature even better. I feel cosplay isn't just about recreating appearance, but more importantly capturing the character's unique demeanor and everyday state. Although we took many shots, I ultimately selected this photo with the most natural sitting posture and flattering leg lines as the main image.

Also, special thanks to the photographer's patience. The Japanese-style room was relatively dark, so he used reflector boards to fill in light, giving the entire image a warm rather than dull color tone. After shooting, I carefully checked if the socks had runs or if the clothes had wrinkles, because these small details truly affect the overall visual impression.
