This swimsuit look for Kuromi Serika cosplay focuses on a refreshing, natural vibe. The character from Blue Archive wears a black-and-white contrast ruffled swimsuit for summer, complete with iconic blue long hair, red eyes, cat ears, and a pink helm-shaped halo overhead for instant recognition. The set design specially utilized a blue-and-white striped awning and wooden box steps, with shimmer film laid on the floor to simulate crystal-clear water, paired with a watermelon, an inflatable life ring, and fake palm trees to visually drop the temperature by five degrees.

For costume prep, I chose a black off-the-shoulder swimsuit; its black-and-white piping not only highlights the character's lively nature but also adds a playful touch. As a swimsuit cosplay theme, the high amount of visible skin really tests body lines. Throughout the shoot, we tried various sitting and standing poses, like sitting on a wooden box with legs curled up or extending one leg so the shoe dangles, effectively elongating leg proportions. Seemingly casual actions, like holding flip-flops while sitting barefoot on the ledge, actually require a naturally relaxed state in front of the lens to convey a genuine seaside vacation mood.

Props in this scene deserve praise as well: the large watermelon, colorful swim ring, and nearby cold drinks and desserts added a sense of daily life and summer atmosphere to the photos. In the second half of the shoot, we switched to a blue-and-white striped lounge chair setup, leaning back with feet resting on the edge of a small wooden table—a lazy posture that yielded a high rate of great shots. The final photo was a close-up framing my face through the life ring, focusing visual attention on her red eyes and twin tails against water ripples and tree shadows that evoked a cool, dreamy vibe for this Anime-style photography set.

Collaborating with photographer Tansuan Shaonian is always seamless. His delicate control over light and shadow and bright, high-key blue tones filled the photos with an oceanic atmosphere. Post-processing didn't exaggerate the image, preserving real skin texture and the deep black of the swimsuit. When shooting anime characters with strong cartoon features, one must capture core cute points like cat ears and halos while incorporating an authentic refreshing summer vibe without feeling stiff. This third set of official photos is not just about making pretty pictures, but a vivid experience bringing a character from 2D to 3D. Shooting a waterside theme in a stuffy studio made me crave a cool summer breeze more than ever. I hope this relaxed, cozy feeling conveyed through the lens lets everyone feel the splash of cool water right through the screen.
