[Paimon Cosplay] Genshin Fes Lunar New Year On-site, a Joyful Encounter with a Warm Winter Look

When the warm-toned lights inside the Genshin Fes venue shone down, the texture of this white-and-red plush costume was instantly brought to life. Regarding the preparation for this cosplay, there were actually many details to handle. The golden ring headpiece has a wonderful solid texture; to ensure it wouldn't easily fall off during frequent movement, I specifically adjusted the securing position of the hairpins. The black star-shaped hairpins paired with the white short wig created a sharp visual contrast, making the overall styling feel much more complete.

The costume itself is made of relatively thick fabric, especially the white plush fur along the hem, which sways naturally when walking. Paired with the red body of the outfit, the overall color scheme perfectly fits the Lunar New Year atmosphere. The golden pattern embroidery on the chest is the crowning touch of the entire design, reflecting different lusters under varying light. The plush collar around the neck serves not only as a decorative piece but is also highly practical in the convention center's air-conditioned environment.

Since I appeared on-site in this Lunar New Year look, this winter outfit indeed felt quite substantial compared to some lighter characters I usually do. However, while patrolling the venue, the red lantern sleeve design was actually very comfortable, offering ample room inside without hindering hand movements at all.

My photographer, Weeds, was extremely sharp with snapshots, and these three pictures record several different states of mine during the convention. The first is a simple standing shot with relatively reserved poses, using a very standard hand gesture to interact. For the second shot, I simply found a relatively quiet spot inside the venue to sit down, raising my hand to my brow in a salute gesture. Since I had been walking for a long time and was quite tired, that sitting posture is actually very natural and relaxed. The third picture was taken when I heard some noise from a nearby booth, and I instinctively clasped my hands in front of my collar with a sub-conscious expression, an angle that beautifully showcases the embroidery patterns on the chest and the thickness of the collar fur.

Roleplaying this character at a major exhibition actually brings some practical experience worth sharing. The crowd density inside the halls is high, so when walking around, you need to be slightly careful with the plush edges of the skirt hem to avoid having passersby step on them. When taking photos, because of some low-angle and high-angle camera setups, you need to patiently cooperate with the photographer's composition instructions. Although this plush material looks thick, its windproof effect is just average, so I mainly relied on the indoor air conditioning to maintain comfort.

When preparing this styling, trimming the wig was one of the core focuses. Since the original hairstyle has highly distinct layers, I had to use point-cutting to manage the thickness of the hair ends while ensuring the headpiece could be securely worn. To align with the shooting schedule, I arrived at the venue early to familiarize myself with the environment, locating several areas with even lighting. The schedule that day was actually quite packed; besides定点 shooting, I had to set aside time to wander around the hall. Since there weren't too many accessories on this outfit, touching up my makeup was highly convenient, requiring only slight adjustments to my eyeshadow and lip color to maintain my state.

The on-site setup of Genshin Fes has a wonderful sense of layering, with distinct booth styles in different zones and highly sophisticated lighting setups. On-site, when taking photos with the miniature landscapes or props inside the venue, I could see the community's precise recreation of the original game's details—this kind of immersion is the unique charm of offline conventions. The atmosphere of the event was truly fantastic, with colorful booths and high-quality sets everywhere. Although I didn't explore every single zone one by one, simply standing in the crowd allowed me to feel the players' and community's deep love for this work.

As a cosplayer, bringing a beloved game character from the screen into reality requires a comprehensive consideration of makeup, wig, costume, and body language. This Lunar New Year look's requirement for expression leaned more toward a warm, slightly playful feeling, so I tried my best to relax in front of the lens. I didn't deliberately strike exaggerated poses that go beyond the character's personality, striving to present the true, authentic side of the character within her setting. Throughout my patrol, I met exceptionally warm fellow fans; many not only recognized the character but would also chat with me about related scenes in the game's story, and this instant resonance was truly moving.

Conventions are always full of unexpected fun, like occasionally running from one end of the venue or resting in a small corner, all of which might be captured by a lens. When coordinating with the photographer, I kept a relaxed state, treating myself as the character enjoying the convention rather than doing a serious shoot. The visual vibe of this set of photos is highly relaxed and natural, without having too many complex props stealing the attention. I hope these recorded moments of the Lunar New Year styling can beautifully convey the festive atmosphere the character wishes to express.
