Staging this Kasumizawa Miyu swimsuit outdoor shoot took place along a tranquil wooden boardwalk by the water. To align closely with the character design, the wig was trimmed with neat blunt bangs and dual braided pigtails, crowned with a floating halo headpiece and flanked by leaf-shaped hairpins on both sides. The coordinate features a blue-and-white two-piece swimsuit accented with pale green leaf motifs, sheer lace frills across the shoulders, mesh-netted miniature wings anchored securely at the back, and black platform slide sandals decorated with starfish charms.
Props were prepared with thorough completeness: a black portable folding camp chair, a fishing rod fitted with a spinning reel, an elongated tackle bag, a yellow cartoon water bottle, and even the rabbit decals and starfish pins on the gear bag were faithfully recreated. Lighting remained soft and diffuse during the shoot, with mirror-flat water stretching outward as the boardwalk receded into the lake. To achieve an organic feel, I sat in the chair angled sideways holding the rod, stretching my legs out naturally. The fishing pole possessed noticeable weight; sustaining the pose while maintaining facial composure and bodily balance demanded genuine core engagement.
To accentuate Miyu's distinctive persona, I revisited her lore and character traits before shooting. Miyu embodies a quiet, hyper-focused nature; within an angling setting, she needed to project a serene stillness completely attuned to her surroundings. I shifted my eye-line slightly away from the camera lens, evoking an authentic, focused state of waiting for a bite. Photographer @XiaoqiangWonder captured several crisp candid profiles and direct angles that immortalized these nuanced beats.
Prop placement was carefully calibrated as well: resting the tackle bag and water bottle at my feet injected lived-in authenticity into the frame. The starfish accents on my slides resonated with the stickers across the bag, weaving the entire styling into cohesive harmony. Though waterside drafts blew fairly strong—occasionally fluttering the wig and back wing attachments out of place—the entire session flowed smoothly. This production granted me valuable techniques for securing hems and accessories against outdoor elements, such as hiding bobby pins along seam edges and using chair angles to balance body weight.
