[Flandre Scarlet Cosplay] Touhou Project Red and blue duo Convention photos record

Today we shot a set of Touhou Project duo official photos, and the process was truly very fulfilling. I cosplayed Flandre Scarlet Cosplay this time, and my partner cosplayed Sakuya Izayoi cosplay. For this set of Convention photos, we spent quite a lot of time preparing the costumes and props. Let's talk about my Flandre outfit first: the overall look is a red-and-white color scheme, with layers upon layers of lace and ruffles making it extremely gorgeous. To prop up the fluffy skirt hem, I wore several petticoats underneath. The headwear is a wide white sun hat decorated with red bows, flowers, and heart-shaped glasses. The props include a bow-shaped magic wand with rainbow diamond-shaped pendants and a red apple. These props greatly enriched the frame details during the shoot.

Let's talk about my partner's Sakuya Izayoi cosplay: her outfit is mainly dark blue and black, exuding an elegant yet somewhat cool and glamorous temperament. The black strapped top is layered with dark blue semi-transparent gauze sleeves, and the lower body features layers of dark blue long skirts, tied on the outside with a white lace apron patterned with crosses. She wears a black choker around her neck, and her silver-white short hair paired with blue contact lenses perfectly matches the character's capable atmosphere. The moment the two of us stand together, the red-and-blue color-blocking contrast is extremely intense—one sweet, one cool—creating a visually very high-tension effect.

The shooting location this time was inside the comic convention hall, where the on-site ambient lighting was quite complex, placing high demands on photography and post-processing. Because a large area of my costume is red and white, special attention had to be paid to controlling the exposure during lighting to prevent the red from clipping and losing the costume's original lace texture. Meanwhile, my partner's dark-colored clothes easily appeared dull in low-light environments, so we used side backlight during fill lighting to outline her silhouette, giving the dark blue gauze material a sense of transparency.

In terms of action choreography, we tried various interactions such as standing, half-kneeling, and sitting. When sitting on the ground, the ground reflection created a mirroring effect. To capture the best angle, we constantly adjusted our postures, even sitting directly on the ground to change the lighting position. I wore white platform strap shoes on my feet, while my partner wore black strap high heels. To showcase the designs of the costumes and shoes, we made many detailed adjustments to the placement of our thighs and skirt hems, striving to ensure that both the layering of the skirts and the leg lines were well displayed in the frame.

Grooming the wigs was also a major focus of this preparation. My golden curly hair needed to maintain fluffiness without looking messy, so I used quite a few styling products to shape it. My partner's silver-white short hair was cut very neatly and, paired with her makeup, photographed exceptionally well in front of the lens. Capturing the duo's interactions from different angles and finding the best compositional proportion in the frame were things we kept coordinating and refining on site.

Being able to do a duo official photo shoot with a compatible partner and presenting favorite characters in a concrete form is a deeply fulfilling thing. We repeatedly adjusted details and communicated actions on site, striving to make every photo withstand close-up scrutiny, which can be considered a satisfying answer sheet submitted for this preparation process.
