This styling portrays Chisa from Wuthering Waves, leaning into a feline Cat-ear maid concept with immense thought poured into hair, makeup, and garment nuances. For the wig, I selected a staple straight black cut tailored with blunt bangs, which paired with red contacts to faithfully capture the character's subtly mysterious aura. The headpiece features a red-and-black animal ear headband accented with white lace frills, red bows, and miniature golden bells that chime softly with movement—a touch that honors the playful feline persona.

The outfit is a quintessential Gothic Lolita dress, centered on black with white ruffled trims and scarlet accents. The sleeves are frilled puff sleeves, with a red necktie and golden buttons adorning the bodice, leading into heavily tiered skirt ruffles that layer black, white, and red folds. To amplify volume and structure, a petticoat was layered beneath to maintain an immaculate bell shape whether spinning or seated. On the bottom, I coordinated white over-the-knee socks with black platform Mary Janes, beautifully extending visual leg lines. To ensure stamina during the shoot, soft gel insoles were slipped into the shoes, which made a huge difference given the long hours of standing and posing across the convention floor.

These Convention photos were shot at the Wuhan Mengxiang anime expo within the Chaowan Planet booth area. The venue staging was remarkably thoughtful, recreating an authentic vintage tea break set. A small round table on the left was draped in lace and laid with ceramic teapots and cups beside leather-bound tomes, flanked on the right by wooden crates, lanterns, dried bouquets, and a vintage chalkboard menu. Parquet flooring and carpets on the ground were scattered with red rose petals and black lace ribbons, which harmonized with the indoor lighting to conjure an intoxicating dreamscape illusion.

The shooting workflow unfolded smoother than expected, as photographer @唐小四 captured the desired visual mood intuitively. The posture in Photo 1 features sitting atop a black tall stool, legs crossed with weight leaning back, lightly pinching the skirt edges with both hands. This pose showcases the skirt's fullness and the flattering elongation of the White stockings while preserving a languid composure. Photo 2 explored kinetic action, incorporating the floating effect of a folding fan and drifting petals to keep the framing vibrant. Seizing the exact split second when the fan floated and the hem ruffled took multiple tossed-fan attempts before yielding two fully satisfying frames.

In terms of fine details, makeup focused on the eyes: extending the eyeshadow blending outward helped the crimson contacts lock in sharp focus. The base pursued a clean, luminous clarity, keeping viewer attention anchored on the garment and facial expression. The prop team showed tremendous care with the roses and teaware; the vintage palette harmonized with the aesthetic without distracting from the subject. Navigating a bustling convention hall with constant foot traffic to secure clean frames was a genuine test of synergy. Overall, this endeavor achieved the intended goals in costume fidelity and atmospheric harmony, and I hope it brings a refreshing visual treat to fans who love Chisa.
