This photoshoot was set during the cherry blossom season at East Lake, with both raw images and retouching leaning toward high-key, luminous clarity. This Saigyouji Yuyuko cosplay costume features intricate layering; the pastel blue, pink, and white sheer dress adorned with lace easily tangles, requiring poses that were neither too stiff nor overly sweeping to find the most natural drape of the skirt. Substantial internal structuring was used to support the dress's shape, which somewhat restricted my movements and required constant coordination with the photographer to spread out the sleeves and skirt gracefully. Managing the pink wig on-site was also tricky, requiring reshaping the curls at the ends to harmonize with the ruffled blue bonnet on top. For makeup, I deliberately chose large-diameter light-colored contacts, winged eyeliner, and dense lashes, complemented by healthy pink-toned blush and glossy lip tint to project an otherworldly, ethereal charm.

Shooting was mainly divided into two perspectives: close-ups utilizing the fan's curve to half-conceal the face or looking directly into the lens to convey the character's languid, detached mood through the gaze (which demanded precise control over facial muscles to avoid appearing stiff); and dynamic full-body action shots utilizing the natural breeze to flutter the wide sleeves and skirt. Poses like turning around to look over the shoulder relied heavily on focus and timing, yielding fantastic results that highlighted the airy lightness of the outfit. In post-processing, we mainly refined fabric highlights to softly blend the blues and pinks without losing detail, while applying depth-of-field blur to background cherry trees so the environment wouldn't distract from the dreamy, girlish aesthetic.

The soft lighting during this East Lake outdoor photoshoot was exceptionally well-suited to the character's presence. Always carrying a blue-based folding fan with a faint, impassive expression, I deliberately slowed down my movements, using downcast eyes and a slightly angled stance to recreate her detached, otherworldly demeanor. Since the venue was filled with tourists and trees, the photographer and I explored many unconventional angles to avoid cluttered backdrops. Holding this fan added great ambiance—used both to block the sun and as a versatile composition prop. Posing with closed eyes to smell the blossoms or sitting by the waterside touching tree branches seamlessly matched her identity as a ghost who might dissipate into the air at any moment, completing a truly memorable Sakura Photograph.
