This time I chose the Bride version of Janus from Azur Lane. The entire look centers around long ice-blue hair and a pure white wedding dress, complemented by white stockings, making the overall visuals incredibly bright and refreshing.

As a Bride cosplay, the difficult part lies in how to reflect the character's own traits. Janus's character setting originally gives off a petite and soft feeling, so I chose lightweight tulle materials with ruffles and lace transparency. The wig features long, straight ice-blue hair with straight bangs; to avoid looking artificial, I specially fine-tuned the roots so that it has natural reflections under the light. The white flower choker around the neck is the crowning touch of the entire look, which, paired with the white flowers on the headpiece, allows girlishness and a sense of sacredness to coexist.

The makeup focuses primarily on a clear and translucent look, with a very thin base layer mainly to highlight the eye contours. Since both the wig and the outfit are in cool tones, I used a bit of shimmering blue-purple for the eyeshadow to echo the white lace on the bride dress. After putting on the white stockings and the wedding gown, the most important thing is to pay attention to posture. Because the skirt is long and has a train, to prevent tripping over the hem, I adjusted my standing and sitting postures many times, finally opting for a shooting plan centered around sitting. This not only stabilized my body but also highlighted the charm of the white stockings by extending my legs. I specifically looked at the photos, and the transition between the white stockings and the skirt hem was handled beautifully, visually elongating the leg proportions.

The shooting location this time was chosen in a European-style indoor set, featuring white Roman columns and a vintage carved sofa, surrounded by plenty of blue and white flowers. The photographer deserves massive credit; he used a large aperture and softboxes to project a very dreamlike, high-key, whitish light. When posing, I intentionally allowed some parts of the white stockings (such as the thighs and ankles) to appear in the composition. Combined with a lazy sitting posture, holding the bouquet while looking at the camera, it captured a relaxed vibe as if just waking up and spacing out in a garden. In several other photos, I reclined on the sofa, utilizing the flared skirt while lifting my legs; this contrast provides much more storytelling than just standing properly.

This white flower bride style can easily look flat, so we had to fully utilize the surrounding flowers as a foreground to create a sense of spatial layering. I was thinking about how to embody the phrase "she seems to be glowing." In fact, during white stockings photography, we used a soft light transmission method, which not only softened the facial contours but also made the entire white dress and blue hair look as if they carried their own highlights. Though the outfit had many layers, the photographer avoided a bulky look through composition and angles, making it appear elegant and flowing instead. The layers of white tulle showed excellent transparency before the lens, which was thanks to the combination of side-backlighting and a frontal softbox. The choice of focal length was also crucial, roughly between 50mm and 85mm, which framed the flowers and the person beautifully without creating distortion. The lighting conditions on that day weren't actually superb, but through brightness adjustments in post-processing, the highlight details were preserved while the shadows were deepened, making the skin look as flawless as a porcelain doll's for that perfect anime aesthetic.

When preparing this look, I also paid special attention to the texture of the white stockings. White stockings that are too thick look heavy, while those that are too thin reveal the underlying skin tone, causing inconsistency, so choosing them required some thought. After putting them on, they also needed to coordinate with the folds of the skirt hem, making the edges of the stockings partially visible rather than completely exposed in the frame, which creates a more subtle beauty. Similarly, the lace stitching on the cuffs had to coordinate with the floral decorations on the neck to prevent overwhelming the main subject. This bride version also demands a lot on the waistline, because a large amount of tulle can easily widen the waist visually, so I intentionally engaged my core during the shoot to avoid a slouching look.

The behind-the-scenes moments during the shoot were also fun; to make the dress spread out beautifully when sitting down, I adjusted the skirt hem repeatedly. Also, because of the long hair, I had to ensure the wig wouldn't get compressed or deformed by the cushions when leaning against the sofa. The photographer was excellent at snapshots, pressing the shutter the moment I prepared to adjust my posture; for instance, that photo of reaching out towards the lens was actually a movement captured right after I finished arranging the bouquet. The overall tone in the official final photos leans toward a cool, high-key white, significantly elevating the sacredness of the bride.

All in all, for this Janus cosplay official photo set, while preserving the character's traits, I tried my best to integrate my own understanding to convey that holy and lightweight feeling. I hope my personal experiences regarding white stockings outfits, wig maintenance, and bride photography composition can give everyone a deeper appreciation of this set of photos.
