[Nightingale cosplay] Halloween Elegy: Welcome to Miss Liz's Witch Feast

Miss Liz's Halloween attire—the "Elegy" skin is genuinely my favorite design from the Witch Feast series, and this time I finally had the chance to fully showcase it at an offline Arknights event.

The hair and makeup this time took immense effort. The long blonde hair with straight blunt bangs focused heavily on strand texturing, allowing it to emit a natural soft glow under lighting. The base makeup was intentionally kept flawlessly pale and translucent, paired with light blue contact lenses and subtle red-and-black blending under the eyes to emphasize that non-human detachment and mysterious, melancholic tone unique to Nightingale cosplay. The black demon horns on my head utilized textured materials, revealing delicate gloss under the lights.

For the costume, a bonnet with extensive white lace ruffles and oversized billowy sleeves created a sharp black-and-white contrast. The black bow at the neckline and intricate lace edges appeared rich in detail before the camera lens. To find the optimal lighting angle, we set up indoors for a long time, ultimately opting for this retro warm-yellow ambient lighting to accentuate facial contours while best showcasing the textures of the makeup and lace garments.

Prop preparation for the shoot was also thorough. A warm-toned candle was placed inside a black-iron lantern candlestick, which, combined with the chess set, yellowed parchment map, and vintage brass mechanical lamp on the desk, resonated perfectly with the dual identity of researcher and witch in the Elegy theme. During the shoot, to capture the character's canonical temperament, I experimented with glancing diagonally upward while holding the quill and stationery—this perspective highlighted the cool aloofness in the eyes and eye makeup. Another composition, resting my chin on one hand while gazing at the chessboard, was designed to convey a serene and composed poise. The wooden bookcase in the background, pumpkin ornaments, and shelf details harmonized seamlessly with the overall Halloween vibe.

Because the sleeves are very long, handling the quill pen and parchment was somewhat awkward, often accidentally snagging the skirt hem, so I had to slightly adjust the range of motion to wrap up the shoot smoothly. This white lace dress easily absorbed exposure against the dark set, while we also had to prevent the adjacent candlestick highlights from blowing out; the gaffer moved lights back and forth for a long time before finalizing the setup, and the outcome was thoroughly satisfying. The vintage Gothic style, dim candlelight, and backdrop filled with books and scholarly props made it feel like truly stepping into the lore's illusionary realm. Wearing this outfit to immerse myself in the character's story was truly a deeply engaging experience.
