[Yidhari cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Fes: Mama Six's Authoritative Aura Maxed Out

At Zenless Zone Zero Fes, I finally fulfilled my wish to cosplay Yidhari. Honestly, before deciding to cosplay this character, I hesitated for a long time because her gear is so iconic—if a single detail went amiss, it could ruin that overall authoritative aura. Thankfully, I was very satisfied with the final presentation, and I received lots of recognition and praise from fellow fans at the venue.

First, let's talk about the wig. The essence of this hairstyle lies entirely in those signature spiral curls. To keep these two curls lightweight without collapsing, I used up nearly half a can of hairspray, repeatedly adjusting the hairdryer's heat to set them in place. Moreover, because the wig has complex cuts and multiple layers, running around the convention floor made it very prone to getting messed up by the breeze or even snagged on props. So after almost every shot, I had to quickly touch it up with a comb and hairspray—truly a typical cosplayer daily routine.

Next is this intricate mecha cosplay costume. The white armor components have a firm, structured texture that gives a great silhouette when worn, though mobility is definitely somewhat restricted. The cut-out patterns and paneling details on the chest and forearms required repeated adjustments to sit snugly without appearing bulky. The black choker around the neck and the purple spiral motifs on the back are what I find most elegant, yet they tested tailoring craftsmanship the most. The red cross emblem on the front of the top, combined with the yellow nameplate pendant below, is remarkably eye-catching. The metallic circular gear buckle at the waist is genuinely heavy; paired with the dangling silver chains, it jingled with every step, exuding full mechanical heft and presence.

Of course, the prop was another top priority. This massive cylindrical heavy weapon wasn't just bulky—it was solidly built and felt quite heavy in hand. When capturing these two photos, gripping the prop's long black shaft firmly with both hands, combined with a foreshortened perspective angle, created an intensely imposing presence. The blue module looked exceptionally sci-fi and sleek on camera. Carrying and holding such a heavy weapon around the venue for a prolonged period, while consistently maintaining a cool, authoritative facial expression, took a huge physical toll—my arms were definitely aching by the end of the day.

For makeup, I chose blue-violet colored contact lenses paired with matching eyeshadow to elongate the eye shape, shaping the character's mysterious yet fierce gaze. The beauty mark near the corner of the mouth was the finishing touch; many fellow fans who came for photos noted how it made the makeup look much more recognizable. I applied blush somewhat generously because reflective shimmery blush absorbs venue lighting easily; under the interplay of strobes and overhead lights, it created a radiant complexion while adding a touch of dreamy 2D anime flair.

The atmosphere at Zenless Zone Zero Fes this time was genuinely amazing. The hall was filled with people who love this game and anime culture, mingling and chatting between booths. Walking through the venue in this gear, people consistently recognized me right away and called out "Mama Six," which instantly made all the preparation and effort feel worthwhile. Every time I cosplay a beloved character, it is a reinterpretation of that persona. Looking beyond the wig and clothing to find the character's inner core, and using gaze and posture to tell her story—that is perhaps the most enchanting aspect of cosplay. I thoroughly enjoyed this process, and I'm deeply grateful to the photographer for capturing such visually striking convention photos, preserving that unyielding and powerful moment forever.
