After finishing the edits on this set of backlog photos, I picked two of my favorite convention photos to organize and share. Walking around the venue all day in this Zenless Zone Zero Nicole Demara cosplay was definitely tiring, but seeing such a vibrant energy captured on camera made all the hustle completely worth it.
The most troublesome part of this look was probably organizing the accessories—the choker, golden armlets, leg rings with yellow heart buckles, along with the leopard print trim and black fishnet at the waist. With so many overlapping details, it could easily look cluttered under convention lighting. Luckily, the photographer, Yunduo, was great at capturing angles, making the bright color contrast between the light blue jacket and pink top pop vibrantly, creating a 3D and rich look overall. I didn't deliberately suck in my stomach either, so a subtle tummy is visible, but this natural state actually adds a touch of genuine charm to the character, making her feel more real and human.
Twintails have always been one of my favorite elements. This time, I customized a giant yellow ribbon bow on top of my head, which, combined with the high-saturation pink wig, delivered a strong visual impact. For makeup, to match the character, I chose high-brightness green contact lenses and defined the eyeliner more prominently to make my gaze look sharper. Although the lighting inside the venue was quite chaotic, brightening the skin tone during post-editing really brought out that anime-style pop and contrast.
Sitting on the white plush rug to pose, the fishnet around the waist and the frayed edges of the shorts happened to line up at the ideal visual focal point, while the heart-shaped metal leg accessories added a stylish touch. Shooting convention cosplay photos really tests your timing—you need to snap moments in the gaps between crowds without passersby in frame, all while maintaining a confident posture. I owe it to the photographer's professional coordination. I personally adore the sweet-and-cool style of this outfit, which let me express a lot of my personal taste. The casual sitting pose paired with the overhead ceiling lights of the venue accidentally created a surprisingly great atmosphere.
Dressing up and heading out for a convention every time feels like a small adventure. You not only have to haul bags filled with wigs and shoes, but also deal with the pressure of keeping good posture. However, seeing such high-fidelity final results makes all the chaos along the way melt away. I hope this relaxed yet confident state shines through in these photos. As a record of convention photos, it has fully achieved the result I hoped for.
