[Ciel cosplay & Elizabeth cosplay] Black Butler Vintage Manor Photoshoot

This Black Butler Ciel cosplay and Elizabeth cosplay photo series was shot on location in a vintage European-style hall. Because it was our first time shooting this pairing as a Duo cosplay, we communicated extensively beforehand regarding costumes, props, and scene decor.

This time, I portrayed Elizabeth cosplay. The red dress is the soul of the entire look; the lace trims along the hemline and the inner pink lining are extraordinarily elaborate, requiring immense care when putting it on. To support the gorgeous bell shape of the skirt in this Vintage dress cosplay, we prepped multiple layers of petticoats underneath. In terms of makeup, I stayed as close as possible to the character's temperament, emphasizing eye expressions. The wig was also custom-made, carefully curled to recreate that charming, aristocratic young lady aesthetic.

My partner's Ciel cosplay was also a huge challenge. His black suit was impeccably tailored, and with details like the eyepatch and leg garters, his cool, solemn aura emerged immediately. During the shoot, to showcase the dramatic contrast in their personalities, we explored various interactions—such as me standing and looking down at him reading, or him sitting while I leaned on my hand watching him, narrowing the emotional distance through eye contact. Because the skirt was so voluminous, our positioning and movements had to be calculated meticulously so the frame wouldn't feel off-balance and the final shots looked harmonious.

For the setting, we chose a vintage studio with arched windows, accompanied by books, candelabras on the table, and surrounding flower vines. As light filtered through the windows, it created a serene manor ambiance. The color grading strategy in post-processing mainly focused on emphasizing warm and cool contrasts, preserving the refined texture of the red dress and the depth of the black suit, with subtle skin smoothing to achieve an overall vintage cinematic feel.

Tremendous effort went into this photo set from preparation to final wrap—ironing each outfit, arranging the skirt ruffles, and directing on-set positioning. Though exhausting, seeing the finished frames made us incredibly happy. I hope everyone can feel that uniquely profound mutual bond between the two of them from the original work.
