This shoot features Tewi Inaba cosplay from Touhou Project. Inspired by that famous quote mentioned in the post, the entire photoshoot theme revolved around this whimsical concept. For the outfit, I chose a Pink lace dress in a pink-and-white color palette, highlighted by a prominent large pink ribbon bow at the collar. The garment features multiple layers with abundant lace trimming along the hem, requiring some time and effort to put on and adjust. The wig is brown curly hair; to match the canon design, I styled it with a curling iron beforehand and trimmed the bangs neatly. To capture the character's sly, cunning charm, I wore large-diameter red contact lenses and focused the eye makeup on blushing under the eyes, visually aligning closer with the original art style. The plush white animal ears (Animal-eared girl / Little rabbit cosplay styling) and the orange carrot ornament atop were the central highlights of this look, secured firmly so they wouldn't pinch my ears while maintaining their angle during shots.
During shooting, we primarily utilized a warm light source from the left, casting a soft halo across my hair and face. To match the playful yet slightly threatening tone of the line, I deliberately pinched my collar in a paw-like gesture and flashed a subtle smirk. This photo adopted a front-facing composition with the subject centered. Holding the carrot prop in hand under close-up framing directly brought out the character's prank-loving, mischievous personality. Naturally, we encountered a few minor challenges on the day of the shoot. For instance, the curls tended to lose volume under indoor lighting heat, requiring constant finger-styling between takes. While the red lenses looked striking, they slightly obstructed vision in dimmer lighting, requiring extra concentration on facial expression management. Additionally, the dress's intricate lace curled easily with movement, needing continuous adjustments to the ribbon bow and cuffs. Since the lower body was not framed in this shot, details regarding stockings or leg styling were not involved. Expressing the character's personality in this photo relied entirely on hand gestures and facial nuance.
Overall, this photo set focuses more on facial expressions and garment details. Combined with the 'Carrots on special offer for 5,000' joke, the entire shoot was an engaging, immersive experience. The photographer's framing and camera work were tremendously helpful, preserving the delicate lace textures on the dress. Achieving such high fidelity comes from understanding the original canon lore—from styling and makeup trials to finding the perfect camera angles, everything was aimed at channeling the character's intrinsic charm. Although the photoshoot was exhausting, achieving such a satisfying outcome was a wonderful experience.
