The Cosplay photo sharing from the Changsha ACC Anime Convention is finally sorted out. Regarding the shoot for this Jotaro Kujo cosplay styling, a lot of effort went into everything from the early preparation to the on-site execution.
That massive backbend pose in the first photo honestly took quite a bit of effort. Challenging my body's physical limits by tilting backwards while wearing a long trench coat and a fairly heavy costume required precise, split-second control over core strength, balance, and the dynamic movement of the coat's hem. Although this angle does an excellent job of showing off the inner lining structure of the coat, my lower back was definitely feeling pretty sore after shooting this shot consecutively.
As for the second three-person group photo, it was a very joyful interlude on-site. Although some might think it's slightly OOC from the perspective of character personality and narrative rigor, I firmly believe that the charm of a convention lies precisely in these impromptu combinations that break the fourth wall. Teaming up with two other equally energetic cosplayers to pose with a narrative feel made the lively atmosphere on-site incredibly infectious. This kind of shoulder-to-shoulder formation felt amazing.
The other two photos select the classic hat-tugging pose, which is the iconic interaction for conveying the character's powerful aura. The details of this costume are actually incredibly rich: the outer long black trench coat, the inner grey undershirt, that rugged metallic chain across the chest, and the visually striking golden contrast shoulder armor paired with segmented purple bracers on the left arm. Posing with one hand resting on the hat brim while naturally looking off to one side, combined with the rhythmic spotlights from the exhibition hall ceiling and the crisp black reflection on the polished floor, created a cool, gritty atmosphere. That black folding ladder also served as a great supporting prop, adding more tension to the composition by utilizing the height difference.
Special thanks to photographer WiFi for the precise camera positioning and lighting control on-site. The venue of the Changsha ACC Anime Convention is extremely spacious, and dodging crowds while nailing the perfect lighting in such a massive exhibition hall definitely tests one's skills in Convention photography. As I sort through this set of photos again, I'm reminded of the immersed state during the shoot that day; it's truly worth savoring.
