The 36th Guangzhou Firefly D2 event photo delivery has been successfully updated. This time, the green flower bed area outside the exhibition hall was chosen for the shoot, attempting to capture a fresh and natural atmosphere different from indoor studio photography. Featuring a light blue doll-collar top as the main visual, paired with a white pleated skirt and pure white tights, it forms a classic blue-and-white color scheme that feels highly refreshing. Coupled with black round-frame glasses and a twin-tail hairstyle, the overall moe temperament aligns even better with the energetic theme of the day.
For the props, I brought a yellow bucket hat decorated with plush little animals along the brim, as well as a cartoon crossbody bag with a cute smiley face. The yellow-packaged beverage held in my hand seems casual, but it actually forms a harmonious monochromatic echo with the color tones of the hat and bag, making the frame's colors richer without looking cluttered.
During the actual shooting process, we utilized the soft light effect created by natural light filtering through leaves, avoiding harsh shadows brought by direct sunlight. When composing, the photographer deliberately placed the figure at the edge of the flower bed, using plants as the foreground and background to create a certain sense of depth. Since the background elements around the exhibition hall were quite complex, we used a large aperture to blur the buildings and pedestrians behind, maximizing the prominence of the main subject. This way of shooting, which highlights strengths while bypassing weaknesses, is a very practical tip for convention photography.
The sitting posture and leaning against the wall beautifully showcase the natural drape of the pleated skirt and the length advantage of the white stockings. During the shoot, there was no intentional posing in stiff positions; instead, it was mostly candid captures of moments adjusting the hat, playing with props, or interacting with the lens, which makes the resulting photos much more vivid and natural. This is also why I especially love doing outdoor shoots at conventions. Compared to serious studio photography, these relaxed and casual convention photos can better display the character's playful side. I hope that while browsing this set of photos, everyone can also feel the joy and vitality exclusive to the 2D world at the Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo venue.
