To faithfully recreate the character's aura from Fate/Grand Order, I specially prepared crimson contact lenses and a golden headdress. The temperature on the day of the Anime convention was actually quite high; wearing this heavy gear, I waited in the outdoor queue at Xiaoyue for a full hour and a half. The queue was packed, and moving around in full cosplay attire was cumbersome. Under the blazing direct sun, I was truly on the verge of breaking down. Right then, someone unexpectedly cut in line, and my temper flared instantly—I almost lost my composure to scold them. Taking a deep breath, I looked up ready to confront them, only to discover that the person standing right in front of me was actually Brother Ye! In that instant, all my anger vanished, leaving me completely amused. Brother Ye was also astonished to see me dressed in such heavy layers and hurriedly explained what happened, though I was honestly too exhausted to listen closely.
When it came to the photoshoot session, this set of photos primarily aimed to accentuate the character's divine majesty and dynamic combat postures. To achieve great results, I challenged numerous dynamic poses. That high-kick pose in photo one was genuinely tough to balance: the billow and curve of the cape in the wind required repeated adjustments, all while maintaining an aloof, cold expression—my legs were trembling after the take. The second photo captured a low-stance spearmanship pose from a low-angle shot, which the photographer used masterfully to highlight the character's imposing aura, slender silhouette, and Beautiful legs. What isn't visible on camera is how skin-tight this costume's fabric is; to achieve a flawless fit, I lined my back with anti-slip silicone pads, and my feet developed blisters from walking so much in strappy sandals and metal anklets.
Despite a few hiccups that day, the final output made every effort feel totally worthwhile. Ishtar is a character defined by a vivid personality; her haughtiness, supreme confidence, and commanding aura must be conveyed through piercing gazes and deliberate body language. At the Anime convention, many fellow fans of Fate/Grand Order (FGO) came over to take souvenir photos, and exchanging thoughts on the character made me immensely happy. This photo collection is the result of continuous communication and iterative chiaroscuro adjustments with the photographer, striving to visually recreate that transcendent divinity. While this Anime convention experience had its twists and turns, it deepened my understanding of cosplay—it is not merely putting on a garment, but truly embodying the soul of a character.
