[Gorou cosplay] Genshin Impact Gorou Drawing His Bow at the Anime Convention: This Gear Is Seriously Hardcore

Cosplaying Gorou from Genshin Impact this time, my biggest takeaway was just how hefty that prop bow really was. To faithfully capture the dynamic kinetic energy of drawing a bow at an Anime convention, I rehearsed the stance multiple times at home beforehand to ensure rock-solid balance. The photographer on-site did an incredible job with the timing, and this archery shot is easily my personal favorite. The entire outfit is packed with intricate elements: the cropped teal-blue top paneled with black leather accents, metallic clasps, and crimson tassels creates wonderful textural layers. The thick red-and-white braided cord at the waist and the massive plush tail behind me are the true showstoppers; the tail has serious volume, requiring careful spatial awareness while walking to avoid sweeping into bystanders. The orange-and-white Animal ears and wig required meticulous grooming as well; the fibers tend to frizz, so I locked them down with plenty of hairspray before heading out. Pairing azure contact lenses with the overall cosmetics gave the eyes a sharper, more focused intensity. To complement the posture, I wore white tabi socks with black platform sandals and black leg guards, giving the whole silhouette a clean, disciplined finish. Running around the convention hall in full kit was undeniably a workout. Due to the scale of the bow and arrow prop, going through security and entry checks required separate inspection; the bowstring was crafted with elastic cord, which felt remarkably realistic when drawn taut. When portraying a battle-ready character, physical body language is just as vital as sartorial fidelity. When posing, I strove to channel that focused dedication and latent strength. The lighting at the venue was tricky and the hall was vast, so we circled almost half the floor to scout ideal angles. I'm thoroughly pleased with the final result; the dynamic tension of the action really shines through. After this, the outfit will need some tender care—especially combing out the plush tail and wiping down the leather trims. I hope to bring this setup back to future conventions to connect with more of you.
