[Smol Amiya cosplay] Arknights: The Little Assistant Eager to Hear the Doctor's Stories

Putting on this outfit for Smol Amiya cosplay, and connecting with the storyline mentioned earlier, my main goal through the lens was to depict a character earnestly wanting to listen to stories. I chose an all-black background because black effectively accentuates the White dress while allowing the blue contacts to become a sharp visual focal point. The fabric of this White dress possesses a subtle sheen; to make the drape look natural, I adjusted the cloth flow repeatedly, ensuring the white bow on the chest was securely fixed. The dangling black star pendant beneath needed to hang perfectly vertically to avoid disrupting visual balance. Wearing the Bunny ears cosplay prop was also delicate work—not only expressing fluffy texture, but also aligning properly with the head's tilt so the ear angles wouldn't look awkward from side profiles. In terms of makeup, to capture the character's youthful, tender quality, a soft reddish eyeshadow blend paired with subtle blush highlighted her young age. The wig is brown, with the bangs trimmed multiple times to keep the eyes and eyebrows unobstructed for more direct emotional delivery. Posing requires great synergy with the camera; high-angle overhead perspectives shorten the visual distance to the viewer. While Photo 1 maintained a steady eye-level gaze, Photo 2 intentionally extended an arm forward, using perspective to break rigidity and add dimensional depth. Regarding the shoot itself, this role demands an everyday, intimate vibe: being set around begging the Doctor for bedtime stories, the gaze must convey focused attentiveness, while poses subtly signal asking for a story. The stark black backdrop is minimalist, meaning character presence alone must carry the entire frame. A three-quarter profile allowed the dress to form natural folds under light, preventing visual monotony. The costume tailoring was exquisite and fitted snugly; utilizing a slightly harder softbox during lighting better emphasized the dress's drape. Overall, through a basic black canvas and deliberate angles, this set portrays the character's expectant and focused everyday state. From makeup palettes to body language, everything centered on one goal: faithfully capturing Smol Amiya's endearing mix of wanting to be close and child-like innocence. Though continuously tweaking light and poses was tedious, the final visual result achieved the intended atmosphere. Above all, this was about channeling character emotion through Cosplay photography, and completing this styling gave me an even deeper appreciation for this Arknights character.
