[Tsukiyuki Miyako Cosplay] Blue Archive Summer Swimsuit Sharing

Bringing Tsukiyuki Miyako's swimsuit look to an outdoor poolside environment this time, I'll share the shooting ideas and costume experience of the Guangzhou location shooting. The costume chosen is a combination of this white off-the-shoulder ruffled swimsuit and a dark blue bottom, paired with a navy blue bow tie on the chest. This style is highly friendly for modifying the shoulder and neck lines while retaining the character's own refreshing and well-behaved visual sense. The silver long hair is a very important feature of the character. To facilitate movement by the pool, the wig underwent very fine root detangling treatment, and it had to be continuously combed with a wide-tooth comb during shooting breaks to avoid the long hair clumping and knotting after entering the water, maintaining the overall fluffiness. The cat-ear headband on top of the head was fixed using invisible clips, and with the later special effects of the blue halo, it tries its best to restore that unique temperament of the character in the frame.

This set of photos mainly uses a high-key and clear Japanese style for post-production. The shooting was done during the intense midday sunlight, where the water surface served as a natural reflective surface, providing excellent fill light for the person. Therefore, the skin tone looks very translucent without too much interference from shadows. When shooting Figure 4, which is the bending composition, it was mainly to display the natural curve of the silver-white long hair cascading down, while utilizing the forward-leaning posture to visually extend the leg proportions. Sitting poses in Figure 1 and Figure 2 used a blue-and-white inflatable swim ring as a supporting prop, giving the character a stable landing point in the frame, so the captured state would look more natural and relaxed. Among them, the close-up part holding a pink phone mainly depicts the ruffled layers of the upper swimsuit and the dimensionality of the bow tie. In terms of scene selection, Guangzhou location shooting at an outdoor pool provided rich blue skies and water backdrops; during composition, a large aperture was used to blur the faraway city buildings and sun umbrellas, thereby focusing the gaze more on the main character subject.

When shooting this swimsuit cosplay look, I actually encountered some issues that need attention in the real scene. For example, the floor tiles by the pool are slippery, so one must watch their center of gravity at all times when walking around in waterproof sandals with heels. Also, the prop phone and swim ring will reflect light under intense sun exposure, requiring adjustments to the shading angle or the use of a polarizing filter to reduce stray reflections. Before heading out for the location shooting, the water and sweat resistance of the makeup was strictly controlled; the base makeup was reinforced with setting spray, and the eyeshadow adopted a clear, light-colored palette to avoid patchy makeup caused by sweating, which would affect the image quality. After the final completion came out, I felt the state of the silver wig floating in the breeze by the pool water was exceptionally great, also conveying that cool and languid atmosphere of a summer outfit. Although the tailoring of the costume is mainly based on a cute style, it has relatively high requirements for fitting the figure, especially the pleating treatment around the waist and abdomen, which can prevent the clothes from riding up during activities near the water.

In terms of styling maintenance, the storage and transportation of the wig, clothing, and accessories also need to be planned well. To adapt to the shooting environment by the pool, I brought a large storage box specifically to hold unbagged wigs and hairnets to keep the hairstyle from getting messy. The cat-ear hair accessory and halo will have their edges and transparency adjusted based on the person's perspective relation and light direction during post-production synthesis, enhancing the fusion between the props and the real scene. For this half-body snapshot caught amidst splashing water, a shutter speed of over 1/1000 second was used to solidify the water droplet forms, which can be said to pose a significant test for both equipment and snapshot timing. Regarding this kind of light-themed outdoor pool shoot, keeping the frame clean and the colors unified is the key to increasing the success rate.
