[Burnice cosplay] Transforming into the Dancing Queen of Zenless Zone Zero at iJoy Anime Convention

Cosplaying "Dancing Queen Burnice" at the iJoy Anime Convention this time, I took advantage of favorable lighting conditions to shoot this set of Convention photos. The synergy of a massive octagonal softbox and reflectors allowed the subject to pop out from the somewhat cluttered crowd background in the expo hall, capturing the glossy highlights of black and red textures with crisp clarity.

First, regarding the styling details: the upper body features a black-and-red cropped leather jacket with plush shearling patchwork at the shoulders in this Leather jacket outfit, which enhances the character's dimensional presence. The lower body pairs a short black leather skirt with a metallic belt buckle, which, combined with a Stocking outfit and glossy over-the-knee boots accented with red straps, significantly elongates leg proportions visually. Combining these materials in the stuffy environment of a convention was quite a test of endurance—leather is not breathable and causes sweating after wearing it for a while, but to capture the character's roguish, slightly rebellious charisma, the physical discomfort was completely forgotten. For the hairstyle, light blonde twintails paired with high-mounted goggles featuring orange lenses made the entire head profile exceptionally recognizable.

Turning to the props: the custom dual-wield weapon balances the feel of both melee combat and ranged firepower. Constructed from wood-grained barrels, a matte black receiver, and white drum magazines imprinted with red typography, it carried considerable weight. Holding it with one hand while maintaining balance and freezing across various poses posed quite a challenge for arm strength. In particular, the pose in Photo 2 sitting on a high stool with arms spread wide required core strength to steady the upper body while aligning the weapon's lines and body posture into an expansive triangular composition, conveying an aggressive yet nonchalantly playful demeanor.

During the shoot, we tested several angles. The shot standing on one leg with a high leg raise required tremendous balance; standing on one foot in heeled boots while displaying the red strap details across the thigh was a true test of center-of-gravity stability. Meanwhile, the over-the-shoulder looking-back pose was intended to showcase the mechanical structure behind the weapon and the overall silhouette of the character. Amidst the bustling crowds of the anime convention, being able to find this relatively quiet corner with the photographer to set up a makeshift studio was all thanks to the wonderful cooperation of our support team.

Cosplaying Burnice this time was not only because of her cool, sharp styling, but even more so because of her dancing-queen-like flamboyance and poise. I feel the essence of cosplay is not simply replicating clothing, but experiencing the character's combat tension through makeup, expressions, and posture. Although the combination of black leather and metallic accents was heavy, the moment I stepped into those metallic heeled boots, I genuinely felt embodied by the character.

Under the glare of massive venue lights, clad in heavy leather and high boots with sweat continually dripping, this is where the immersive joy of convention cosplaying truly lies. Seeing the sheen captured under the blend of ambient light and professional strobes in the final photos, as well as the crisp textures along the weapon's edges, transformed all previous exertions into sheer satisfaction. The atmosphere presented in these Convention photos preserves the character's innate combat flair while infusing the unique anime immersion of the live venue—an altogether exhilarating Burnice cosplay experience.
