Shooting a gym uniform themed session against a pure white studio backdrop, the first thing to consider is how to perfectly blend the sport of volleyball into body expressions.

This time, I chose Tamamo no Mae cosplay in her gym uniform look from Fate/Grand Order—a short-sleeved sportswear primarily white with red cuffs and collar splicing, paired with black athletic shorts and eye-catching Blue over-the-knee socks. The overall color combination is very refreshing; the blue-white-red color-blocking forms a well-balanced contrast and visual focal point against the character's long pink hair and brown-and-white animal ears and tail in this Animal ear outfit.

Before shooting, I specifically checked the smoothness of the wig; the pink hair strands carry a subtle sheen under the lights, and the natural layers trimmed at the ends give more airiness when tossing or moving around. The animal ears on top are made of plush material, requiring precise center-of-gravity placement during fastening to avoid tilting during dynamic moves that could ruin the final shot. This Gym uniform cosplay outfit fabric has decent elasticity, preventing any constrained feeling during large stretching movements, while the black chest print serves as a great accent to break up the monotonous white area.

The volleyball prop used during shooting also underwent multiple toss-and-catch tests; the two-handed lifting pose in photo one actually severely tests upper-body core stability. It requires extending both arms straight, holding palms in a lifting posture, while standing straight on the left leg with the right leg bent and raised backward, creating a dynamically light visual state. To prevent the posture from looking stiff, I intentionally adjusted my shoulder angle to relax, slightly raising my gaze following the volleyball's position—not only emphasizing neck lines, but also making my temperament fit a sports girl's playful vitality even better.

Because the gym uniform cut is relatively short, combined with Blue over-the-knee socks, it visually elongates leg length significantly. Photo two shows a single-arm reach posture; this wide-frame body action better demonstrates the sportswear's loose fit and the beast tail's dynamic movement. The animal tail incorporates an internal shaping wire design, allowing free adjustment of upward curves according to body force directions; in this photo set, the tail's upward angle matches the body's twist direction, further strengthening the dynamic asymmetry and lively vibe of the frame.

Collaborating with photographer @严深 was extremely smooth; he excels at capturing the dynamic tension of human movement in the moment. Lighting for this photo set utilized a front softbox combined with side fill light, making facial shadows exceptionally clean, nicely preserving skin texture while emphasizing color saturation in the costume and wig. During continuous shooting, we needed to constantly adjust the volleyball's position in the frame to ensure it didn't obscure face details or crucial animal ear features—this precise fine-tuning gave the final photos a much higher degree of completion.

Compared to complex scene builds, this pure studio style tests the model's own understanding of character demeanor even more. Pink hair combined with animal ear elements naturally carries a gap-moe blending fantasy and everyday life. Wearing this gym uniform full of academic or athletic vibe easily evokes an image of brimming energy on the field, so regarding expression control, I tried to keep a relaxed mindset, presenting an easygoing yet confident state. Organizing photos after the shoot, I found these two photos with different action angles each have unique traits—photo one leans toward focus and concentration, while photo two leans toward relaxed expansiveness.

This shooting process gave me more insights into shaping sports-style characters, where outfit details and prop interactions are both indispensable. Whether in color coordination, styling restoration, or action design, I hope to present another side of this character's charm.
