Slipping into this pink uniform, fastening the purple necktie, and putting on the long, straight purple wig alongside bright blue contact lenses, looking at myself in the mirror felt like finally realizing a wish I had quietly held close for years. I have longed to do a Hitagi Senjougahara cosplay for the longest time, and this Monogatari Series Group photo project finally offered the perfect chance to bring that dream to fruition.

First and foremost, special thanks go to our organizer, Sakuya, who shouldered all the planning alone. From booking venues and coordinating props to scheduling the shoot day's itinerary and conceptualizing post-production visual effects, she led everyone through every step. Being able to join a group shoot where you don't have to stress over logistics and can simply follow the plan while giving your absolute best is truly a blissful and relaxing experience.

As Hitagi, details across costume and props could never be overlooked. The pink blouse with red lapels and cuffs paired with the purple pleated skirt carried wonderful texture under studio lighting. To accentuate body lines, I opted for over-the-knee Black stockings paired with classic black leather shoes. For props, I prepared a stapler and scissors—essential elements for showcasing her razor-sharp character traits. To achieve the best effect on camera, I repeatedly adjusted the angles of my fingers and wrists, striving to master her guarded, cold body language.

The shooting process was immensely fulfilling. In the white cyclorama studio, the photographer guided me through diverse solo poses: holding the stapler against my temple, or casting a backward glance with scissors in hand, where each shutter click required a finely tuned gaze. To achieve the visual spectacle of Photo 11—with fluttered skirts and stationery suspended mid-air—we tested positioning and movement countless times on set, and the post-production compositing added fantastic dynamic flair.

We also took group ensemble shots inside the classroom. Seven of us stood before the blackboard holding a clapperboard and briefcases, each clad in distinct outfits ranging from raincoats to dresses and an oversized pink backpack styling. Everyone gathered to brainstorm poses and help fix wigs and garments, fostering a wonderfully harmonious vibe. During studio breaks, I took plenty of candid snaps with everyone; hanging out with partners wearing cat-ear glasses or plush yellow bunny hats was utterly relaxed.

This group project was not merely a cosplay experience, but a precious opportunity to learn and connect with fellow passionate fans. From tailoring adjustments to mastering prop grips, every minor detail deepened my understanding of cosplay. Though physically exhausting, seeing everyone pull together toward the same creative vision was deeply grounding. I look forward to producing even more satisfying finished photos in the future.
