[Aglaea Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Photoshoot Sharing

Sharing the final photoshoot: this time cosplaying Aglaea from Honkai: Star Rail. The most time-consuming part of styling was definitely the wig—the strands on this bright blonde wig were relatively thick, requiring careful sculpting of the bangs and side curls piece by piece, as well as adjusting the placement of highlights. The floral and branch hair accessories were clipped separately to the side. To match the character's temperament, I chose green contact lenses (Blonde hair and green eyes aesthetic), deliberately accentuating the aegyo sal and pink blending at the outer corners of the eyes to create a look that feels clear and bright yet gently distant.

The khaki trench coat had great texture with a structured drape, and the striped inner shirt complemented the overall palette nicely; I spent considerable effort adjusting how it was worn to ensure natural flow. We shot indoors by a white cabinet near a window, with a peek of blue curtains and soft lighting.

The hardest part was undoubtedly cooperating with the cat (Cat interaction)—this little kitty immediately nestled into my embrace. When I first picked it up, it squirmed a bit, so I went with the flow and waited for it to get tired and fall asleep in my arms, continuously adjusting my posture to match its movements. During this wait, we captured these shots. The first photo features the cleanest expression and composition; gazing directly into the camera captured the character's poised, static demeanor, and with the centered framing and uncropped face, it was perfect for the cover. In the second photo, it stretched out a paw onto my arm—I was worried it might scratch the fabric while shooting. The third photo shows me looking down at it, capturing a tender and authentic moment.

The entire shoot was quite tiring, as holding one still posture to stabilize the cat put continuous strain on my body; the wig was heavy and pressed somewhat painfully against my scalp, all while I had to make sure my facial expressions didn't freeze up. In post-processing, we avoided exaggerated edits, focusing on unifying the color palette, fine-tuning skin texture, and enhancing details in the wig and the cat's fur. This set aimed for a lively, organic atmosphere rather than rigid studio posing, which is why we chose side angles under soft natural light. Incorporating subtle gestures, I strove to reflect the character's elegant, aloof, yet quietly warm persona. Overall, it was a wonderful Cosplay photoshoot experience—while holding a cat limited big movements, quietly leaning on each other felt beautifully natural, fully realizing my initial vision for this set.
