[Yangyang cosplay] Wuthering Waves BW Booth: Skylark-like Lively Xuanling

Cosplaying Yangyang Xuanling at the BW2026 Wuthering Waves booth honestly took quite a long time to prepare, from tailoring the costume to finishing the hair and makeup. The Xuanling outfit features intricate layering with a black, blue, and white color-block scheme, combining a plunging V-neckline with elaborate blue feather embellishments and metal clasps around the waist. The cuffs and edges of the coat bear silver cloud embroidery that catches and reflects the booth lighting beautifully, offering a fantastic texture. The silver bracers on the arms also feature a custom distressed metallic finish, harmonizing seamlessly with the overall palette.

I styled the wig bit by bit myself. Black hair transitioning into white-and-blue gradient tips, paired with subtle purple highlights on the front bangs, along with the golden branch hairpin and red tassels, made the colors incredibly rich. To ensure the wig looked natural on camera, I went through multiple rounds of restyling so stray hairs wouldn't look messy under the expo hall's airflow. To stay faithful to the character's expression, I wore blue contact lenses, blended reddish tones around the eyes, and painted delicate patterns on my forehead and cheeks.

Shooting at an expo hall feels vastly different from a typical studio session; the ambient lighting is complex and foot traffic is heavy. To evoke that adorable, skylark-like charm mentioned in the post, I put a lot of thought into posing—like flashing double peace signs with a wink, pinching my cheeks, or tugging at the wide sleeves. During the shoot, photographer @一棵屑松 kept guiding me and snapping natural in-between moments. For example, that shot where I formed cat paws beside my cheeks was a spontaneous idea, and paired with a little pout, it really amplified the character's playful cuteness.

The sleeves on this costume are voluminous, which easily clumped together during movement, so I had to constantly smooth out the folds to keep the silver embroidery visible. The skirt has an asymmetrical cut, so when moving or posing, I needed to watch the lines of my legs; turning slightly sideways or leaning forward helped create much more flattering contours. High-intensity booth shoots are genuinely exhausting, as you must keep your back straight while constantly switching poses and expressions. Still, meeting so many fellow Wuthering Waves fans on site and hearing people call out the character's name brought a tremendous sense of fulfillment.

I'm very pleased with how the whole set turned out today. While there are always spots that could be polished further, the lively energy captured in candid booth moments is hard to replicate in a studio. The authentic expo atmosphere, coupled with natural light reflections, made the silver thread embroidery pop with remarkable vitality. If given the chance later, I'd love to explore more detailed showcases in different styles.
