[Moriya Suwako cosplay] Touhou Project's Frog deity Crouching by the Brook: Finished Set - Image 2

This shoot focused on Moriya Suwako from Touhou Project. Recreating the character's essence took considerable thought and effort with the outfit and props. The straw hat with frog eyes was handcrafted piece by piece using woven straw, moss, and dried flowers to channel that feeling of being nestled in nature. The lotus leaf staff in hand was also self-made, reinforced with an internal support to maintain the stem's realistic rigidity. Crouching on the riverside rocks in this ensemble was surprisingly grueling; the White tights cosplay elements could easily get soiled by mud, and I constantly had to watch my footing to keep from slipping into the water.

The shooting location was alongside a secluded mountain brook with gorgeous dappled light, though mosquitoes were everywhere. To steer clear of harsh direct glare, finding the right angle was essential, letting the dappled canopy light gently brush across my face so the resulting color temperature stayed organic. Alternating between full-body framing and half-body close-ups was equally crucial. Because the lore depicts this Frog deity enjoying crouching by the stream to banter with frogs, I deliberately went with casual crouching and sitting postures by the water. Lifting the skirt hem while holding the lotus leaf captured that mix of playful charm and serene divine detachment beautifully under natural light.

The forest air was rich with moisture, and the fallen leaves and moss beneath my feet served as organic props. Suited up in this attire, it felt as though I genuinely transformed into the Frog deity. I hope everyone can experience the authentic ecological vitality of this Outdoor forest photography session and the natural charm of this Touhou Project look.
