This time, I am bringing a custom design version of Robin from Honkai: Star Rail, with some extended design based on my personal understanding around the concept of "Tomorrow with No Tears." The color scheme of the entire outfit selected taro purple paired with sky blue and creamy white, mainly aiming to present a lightweight, dreamy atmosphere with a touch of divinity.
A lot of effort was put into the costume's materials and details this time. The skirt hem consists of layers of lace and tulle, spliced with diamond-patterned fabric in the middle to increase layering. The pink 3D roses dotted on the waist and skirt hem were made using shrink film and flocking powder; to maintain the curve of the petals, each flower was repeatedly adjusted. The satin bow tie presents different reflective textures under the sunlight and looks extremely gorgeous when walking. The most major highlight is the translucent light tulle wings on the back and the white tulle on the arms; this material has excellent light transmittance under natural outdoor lighting, creating a great blurring effect when taking photos.
In terms of makeup and hair, the blue wig was trimmed with a sense of layering, and white feather hair accessories were matched on top of the head. To fit the overall fantasy style, the eye makeup heavily emphasized an agile feel, matched with contact lenses of the same color scheme, and the lip color was chosen with a dewy texture to ensure the texture is not lost under strong light.
The shooting day was at an outdoor convention venue with plenty of lighting, but because of the crowds, moving around in the large skirt and large props was actually quite a hassle. To showcase the fullness of the skirt and the tension of the wings, we tried conventional front-facing composition as well as diagonal tilted composition. The tilted angle of Figure 2, combined with the post-processing radial blur special effect, well compensated for the clutter of the outdoor background, focusing the visual center completely on the subject and making the overall frame more dynamic. When posing, remember to tighten the core, open the shoulders, keep hand postures from being too stiff by gently resting them near the chest or jaw, and coordinate with a slightly raised head angle, which can nicely elongate the neck line. Although it's a custom design, I also tried my best to fit that gentle yet firm demeanor of singing on stage and yearning for tomorrow, and I hope you all like this presentation.
