[Robin Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, The Serene Singer at the Foshan CW Anime Convention

On Day 2 of the 3rd Foshan ComicWorld, I completed this shoot as Robin. Preparing this costume actually took a lot of time, from the light blue long curly wig to the floating angel halo on top of my head, wanting to get as close to the original work as possible everywhere. This blue-and-white dress is my favorite part; the gradient from deep blue to sea blue not only makes my skin look fair, but the golden star-shaped cross metal decorations at the collar and waist, along with the circular golden badge in the center, give the entire outfit a stable weight, keeping it from looking flimsy.

The venue for this convention is a local exhibition hall in Foshan, and the photos include the yellow B3 sign and the wide red carpet. This industrial-style venue and the red carpet itself create a nice contrast, and the convention lighting on-site was also very suitable for photography. Special thanks here to NightDiva for the lens capture; the wide-angle low-angle shot elongated the visual extension of the plush hand warmers, staff, and blue high heels beautifully, making the layers of the skirt hem look particularly dynamic under the wide-angle lens perspective. The wing decorations on the side of the head, gradienting from white to light purple, and the floating feel of the halo were also well preserved in the frontal close-up.

The props prepared this time were also quite rich. Besides that huge gold-and-purple staff, there was also that wooden picture frame filled with blue simulation butterflies. When shooting the butterfly picture frame set, I specially adjusted the angle to let these blue butterflies echo my hair and eye colors. The turquoise colored contact lenses and the small star glitter makeup under my eyes were also intended to add a bit of agility and dreaminess to the character.

Actually, during the shoot, the plush large cuffs and white gloves of this costume did bring some challenges. Although the visual effect is very fluffy and warm, it was not easy to flexibly hold the staff or strike some stretched poses. Doing a cosplay is often about finding a balance within these "good-looking but hard to move" outfits. To ensure the drape of the skirt hem in the photos, I paid special attention to the posture of each step when walking. The small wings on top of my head and the golden halo are made of very light materials, and they were quite stable when walking around the exhibition hall, without tilting or falling off.

The second day at the convention venue was still crowded with foot traffic, but the photographer professionally found a relatively empty shooting spot in the red carpet area, avoiding the messy passersby and booths in the background. While finding angles on the red carpet, tourists stopped to take photos nearby, and that feeling of being watched also gave me more motivation for this shoot. Every anime convention feels like a re-interpretation of the character, not just wearing similar clothes, but passing on the character's temperament through makeup, styling, gaze, and the posture of lifting the staff.

This set of photos records one of my creations at CW. Whether it's the mask-like halo or the elegant plush on the sleeves, a complete texture was left under the photographer's lens. I hope to bring more meticulously prepared makeup and styling to meet everyone at major convention venues in the future, to experience the immersion brought by different characters.
