For this Robin cosplay, the most energy-consuming part was creating the floating effect for the golden halo overhead and the purple wings behind my back. To prevent the support brackets from showing in the frame, I repeatedly adjusted the position of the center of gravity and the thickness of the support rods, using my Silver long hair to seamlessly conceal the joints—the whole setup took nearly half a day.
In terms of makeup, to match the character's innate texture, I adjusted the shade of the contact lenses. For the eye makeup, I focused on lifting the outer corners and swept a generous amount of highlighter across the bridge of my nose and cheekbones to complement the overall soft, Dreamy style ambiance. The brow arch was deliberately drawn softer to showcase more vivacity in front of the camera. For lips, I chose a glossy pink tint, which avoids looking overly mature and aligns better with the pure visual concept.
The outfit consists of a white off-shoulder top paired with an orange short skirt, creating a strong color contrast. The off-shoulder and asymmetrical neckline design of the white top beautifully accentuates the collarbone and shoulder lines. To achieve better shooting results, hidden snaps were added inside the garment to lock its position and prevent wardrobe shifts during movement. The waist of the orange Off-shoulder short skirt features white pleating and side ties, offering rich visual layering when moving. The angle of pulling the garment in the third photo was intentionally planned to engage core muscles and better present the waistline.
During shooting, we experimented extensively with aperture and lighting. The poses in the second and third photos required precise control over the tension in my arms and shoulders, coordinated with shoulder tilts. The photographer used a warm, soft key light from the front while casting a cool-toned rim light from the rear flank, allowing the purple feathers and overhead golden halo to separate cleanly from the dark background with an airy translucency.
For post-processing, we mainly refined the background gradient to harmonize the orange backdrop with the costume palette and removed the translucent fishing line used to suspend the halo. The overall ambiance preserved that fresh yet subtly mysterious light tone. Wearing high-difficulty gear and executing precise angle control are key to producing high-quality cosplay sets, and next time I might consider increasing the proportion of dynamic snapshots.
