This set of photos for the 'Aria of Feathers' has been sitting in my folders for a long time, and while scrolling through my photo album today, I finally sorted them out to post. For the outfit, I chose this lightweight, strapless dress spliced with light blue and white tulle. The outer tulle skirt reflects a subtle luster under the studio lighting, and with the bow and fine chain at the waist, the overall visual fits well with the pure tone discussed before. The golden floating halo on the head and the small wing props on the sides of the ears are the focal points of this styling. We adjusted them many times on-site to lock down the perfect angle and position.
The makeup this time was done with the help of Jiuling. The cool-toned makeup combined with the slightly emerald-green colored contacts appeared very translucent in front of the lens, so the post-processing barely needed to touch up the base makeup. The wig chosen was this soft purplish-blue long straight hair, with a bit of gradient layering in the strands. Combined with the braided details, the weight and volume of the entire head styling were well within a controllable range. The photography and venue were at Unreal Visual Workshop, and the white-base studio setting they provided, combined with a vast amount of real fresh flowers, was a huge plus. From sunflowers to blue-purple hydrangeas, the colors were rich without stealing the spotlight, and paired with the European carved sideboard and white plush round stool, it provided excellent depth-of-field support for the entire set.
As for the shooting poses, to embody this ethereal and soft attribute, I tried various postures. Actions like sitting inside the flower clusters and reaching out, or leaning against the counter sideways to extend one foot, allowed the skirt hem to drape naturally, while also making it easy to display the combination of white thigh-high stockings and heeled sandals, elongating the visual proportions. In post-production, floating blue petals and shimmering star-like special effects were added on top of the base, making up for the slight monotony of the studio environment and bringing the overall look closer to a levitating feeling. Although this set was shot in a rush, I'm personally quite satisfied with the completion of the final images. I hope to maintain this level of professionalism in handling light, shadow, and composition to deliver a great character presentation every time.
