The teamwork during this Studio shoot in Shanghai was seamless. Because it was in a studio, the lighting and staging could be precisely controlled. I have to praise the exquisite image quality delivered by the Sony camera—the raw, unedited colors were already remarkably translucent, perfectly matching the aesthetic of a Sweet portrait.
First, about the styling: the wig was a light blue short cut with wing-like feather contours on both sides. The golden halo and orange ribbon on top served as the visual centerpiece, which took the stylist considerable effort to secure properly. To fit the summer beach vibe, the makeup featured blue and orange teardrop glitter across the outer eye corners and cheeks, paired with light blue contact lenses for a dewy, translucent finish. The outfit featured a white off-the-shoulder crop top with ruffled cuffs, blue and yellow musical note motifs across the chest, orange shorts, and a patterned white wrap tied around the waist. For the best visual effect, I went completely barefoot throughout the shoot; being free of shoes allowed me to feel far more relaxed in front of the lens. The blue choker and orange wristbands served as lovely accents, enhancing the layers of the ensemble.
The studio set was meticulously constructed, layering numerous blue-and-white striped elements to build a seaside atmosphere. Blue-and-white striped tablecloths covered the table, while wooden folding lounge chairs, a parasol, and inflatable swim rings were scattered around. The floor was covered with clear plastic sheeting to simulate shimmering, rippling water. In this setting, the gaffer adjusted the key light and reflectors to keep the entire space brightly illuminated without being harsh.
Props were an enormous help during the shoot. The light blue plush dolphin was super soft—whether sitting on it, leaning over it, or resting my feet against it, I could quickly find a relaxed pose. Holding the small wooden ship's wheel and adjusting the angle instantly evoked a nautical adventure feel. The white wide-brimmed straw hat with lace trim and the ice cream waffle cone were great for posing and framing, adding playful vitality. Because the plastic film on the floor was slippery, balancing barefoot required care. Photographer Mr. Jiang constantly guided my poses, capturing many candid moments—such as pretending to steer with the ship wheel, or holding a Fanta can and watermelon slice with an expression of surprise. The entire session was delightful. This immersive Studio shoot not only captured the character's signature features accurately, but also enriched the details to give the photos narrative depth, making it a deeply rewarding creative experience.
