Actually, quite a lot of thought went into the early preparations and scene set-up for this summer-themed Robin cosplay photoshoot. To fit Robin's traits in Honkai: Star Rail while highlighting the refreshing feel of a summer vacation, we specifically designed this blue and white swimsuit look.
In terms of clothing details, the top features crisscross straps and cutouts, decorated with a starfish pattern and sequins on the chest, along with a necklace featuring pearls and white flowers, making the overall details incredibly rich. The lower half is a white ruffled miniskirt, with long, blue semi-transparent gauze streamers attached to both sides. This streamer was highly useful during the actual shoot; whether sitting or lying down, it could naturally drape beside the legs or the beach chair, adding a sense of flow and layering to the frame.
For the wig, we selected a light blue-violet slightly curled style, paired with feather-shaped and star hair accessories on both sides, and a golden halo decorated with star elements on top of the head, making the head styling look full and carry a dreamy anime vibe. To match the summer theme, the makeup chose a highly translucent texture, paired with subtly shimmering sequined eye makeup and dewy lips, making the overall face look clean and radiant in front of the lens without any heavy feeling.
The preparation of props provided a huge atmosphere boost for this shoot. A wood-colored folding beach chair served as the core visual anchor of the entire frame, with a background paired with colorful red, yellow, and blue triangle pennant banners, a pink surfboard decoration, a yellow swim ring, and green tropical broad-leaf plants. Combining these elements instantly brought out the summer poolside vibe. The props also included an English newspaper, a ukulele, a blue-and-white vintage microphone, and a small paddle. During the shoot, we could adjust postures through various hand-held actions, such as using the newspaper to shade the eyes or facing the camera, breaking up any monotonous posing vibes.
In terms of photography and post-production, we intentionally chose a high-exposure, bright high-key style, using strong yet soft natural light to simulate real, direct summer sunlight. To highlight the subject, the photographer used multiple shooting angles, including low-angle shots, high-angle shots, and tilted compositions. Using a wide aperture to blur the foreground green leaves or props increased the depth of field, making the subject pop even more.
Another small detail of this look that I'm highly satisfied with is the star tattoo stickers on my legs and the white platform lace-up sandals on my feet. The lace-up design paired with the star patterns not only enriched the visual elements of the lower limbs but also made the overall vacation and leisure style of the Summer swimsuit photography more complete. From the final cuts, as the person on camera, I feel the accuracy of this planning was quite good. Whether leaning on the chair reading the newspaper or interacting with the microphone, there was no awkwardness, and I naturally blended into this summer-scented scene. This cosplay sharing set of photos beautifully combined character traits with a specific theme, making it a very pure record of Anime-style photography in the summer.
