This Alice cosplay set was actually shot last autumn. While I felt great about the results back then, I somehow ended up dragging my feet until Season 3 of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation started airing before remembering to share it—a belated encore for our beloved Red Mama. Seeing everyone reminiscing about young Alice made me want to pull out these photos and reflect on every little detail that went into preparing the costume and styling.

Let's start with the wig and makeup. Alice's iconic crimson locks can easily look harsh or jarring in the real world, so I spent considerable time thinning, layering, and styling the wig to ensure the curl at the tips fell naturally. The black headband at the crown is a vital touch; once put on, her signature tsundere demeanor laced with noble refinement instantly emerged. For makeup, red colored contacts faithfully recreated her deep, piercing gaze. Eyeshadow was blended in reddish tones, complemented by generous blushing across the cheeks and a natural lip tint, aiming to strike a harmonious balance between aloof coolness and youthful maidenhood. We had ample sunshine on the day of the shoot; when natural light brushed across my face, it made the red hair pop with even greater vibrance.

Now onto the wardrobe details. The white top was crafted from crisp, structured fabric, centered around the black bow at the collar. I intentionally let the two long black ribbons drape downward so they would flutter gently with every step. The top features an off-the-shoulder cut anchored by black straps, revealing the collarbones for a breathable silhouette. The black waist cincher sculpted the waistline over an inner red-and-black sash, creating a striking color contrast. For the lower half, a deep brown pleated skirt is finished with a black ruffled hem along the bottom; when spinning, the flare arcs gorgeously, evoking the sturdy, weighted texture of a medieval adventurer. Paired with white pantyhose White stockings and black buckle loafers, the overall black, white, brown, and red palette came together in complete harmony. Although it leans toward a long-sleeved ensemble, the cold-shoulder design and White stockings added a touch of lightness and playful charm.

The outdoor location was chosen among a complex of European-style buildings with exposed timber framing. The pairing of whitewashed walls and dark timber perfectly matched the atmosphere of an isekai fantasy town, complete with colorful triangular bunting fluttering in the distance. Photographer @狗子狗子 was wonderful at guiding my movements, advising me not to freeze into rigid poses, but rather to imagine strolling through this quiet town. Shot 1 was a candid capture of smoothing my hair; Shot 2 had my hands clasped behind my back; Shot 3 captured me sweeping locks behind my head; and Shot 4 caught an in-motion spin where the skirt hem and White stockings were fully displayed before the camera. Shot 4 is my personal favorite because that angle neatly captures the entire outfit, and the rhythmic motion of the stride creates the vivid impression of an adventurer setting out on a journey. Looking back, the weather was actually rather humid and warm during the shoot, but seeing the final frames made every moment feel completely worthwhile. Even as everyone follows the unfolding story in Season 3, I still dearly miss that sharp, headstrong young girl that Alice was.
