[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Miss Pink Elf's Custom Chinese-style design Exploration

This modified cheongsam look featuring a Custom Chinese-style design for Elysia Cosplay is finally ready. Because this is a custom concept, I made some creative styling tweaks. Unlike the fantasy pastel palette in the original game, I chose a modern modified cheongsam with a Chinese mandarin collar and frog buttons, printed with expansive pink floral motifs and adorned with chest tassels and knot closures. Paired with this long Pink wig and purple contact lenses, it successfully translated the character's traits into a classical aesthetic. The Ancient architecture outdoor photoshoot location was set in a plaza featuring traditional buildings set against modern high-rises—this contrast between old and new created a unique visual impact, while the soft afternoon slanted sunlight illuminated my face very gently.

For makeup preparation, to match the character's dreamy temperament, I chose large-diameter purple contact lenses paired with dense, elongated false eyelashes. Since large anime eyes can easily look exaggerated on a real face, the focus was placed on under-eye brightening and eyeliner contouring, striving to make the eyes look vivid yet natural. The lips were painted a light pink to harmonize with the core color palette. Managing the Pink wig also took considerable effort; the ribbon bow on top and the thick side braid were not only styling highlights but also made turning or looking down easy without the hair looking messy.

The shooting process was quite interesting. Holding a white umbrella with lace trim, I was initially worried it might clash with the background, but the shots revealed that this collision of Eastern and Western elements actually enriched the frame. In the first photo, I preserved the fuller background, holding the umbrella while looking toward the camera to create an interactive feel. The second photo is a close-up from a slight low angle with cascading hair, drawing visual focus directly to the eyes. With minimal movement, the shot relied primarily on gaze and facial expressions to command the frame, where different angles of eye contact delivered distinct emotions.

In post-processing, the main focus was unifying color tones, preserving stone paver textures on the ground, and faithfully capturing the texture of sunlight hitting the cheongsam patterns. The overall soft-light effect gave the photos a translucent clarity that suited the mood of this outfit. Although shot in an open plaza without elaborate sets, the architectural lines and interplay of light and shadow still brought out the desired classical, graceful charm. For characters in Honkai Impact 3rd, experimenting with entirely different styles and experiencing novel atmospheric backdrops is part of the joy of doing cosplay, and I feel very satisfied with the result.
