[Elysia Cosplay] Memories of Long Pink Hair and Elf Ears

When shooting this Elysia Cosplay set, the biggest hurdle was actually styling the hair. The mention of the '8th wig' in the post is genuine truth: achieving that airy, fluffy sensation with the long Pink hair gradient was extraordinarily difficult—the previous wigs were either too stiff or overly dark, until the 8th one finally delivered the ideal effect.

Putting on the costume was just as intricate: splicing white and purple fabrics with gold-trimmed accents, while the golden bow and pink gemstone at the neckline required careful fastening to avoid shifting. The cut and fit of the bodice flatteringly accentuated body curves, paired with cut-out white gloves to look textured and distinct without feeling plain. The lighting during the shoot was somewhat harsh, so the photographer used a rim light to illuminate through the hair strands. The first photo adopts a slight high-angle perspective with a peace sign gesture, maximizing facial contours and eye expressions while accentuating the upper body's visual appeal.

The second pose, raising one hand overhead, was meant to match the character's lively temperament, though it required strong balance since the glove material was slippery, demanding steady posture. We shared plenty of laughs during the shoot—like the wig catching on the collar or the glove finger caps slipping off, requiring brief pauses to fix them. The fabric texture is very comfortable yet lightweight, requiring mindfulness against wind.

For post-processing retouching, minimal body reshaping was done, prioritizing skin texture and garment structure, with a key focus on preserving the lively sparkle of the pink pupils. As a character from Honkai Impact 3rd, Elysia's inherent design is vibrant and dreamy; thus, I deliberately selected these purplish-pink contacts and long Elf ears to amplify that ambiance. The white headpiece was also carefully positioned to avoid blocking my sight.

Regarding poses, peace signs and salutes are classic 2D anime gestures, and I focused heavily on bodily extension during the shoot. To add dimensional depth to the shots, I coordinated gaze shifts—looking straight into the lens in the first shot and slightly upward in the second, with nuanced expressions for each. The overall shoot went very smoothly, with the crew helping fine-tune many details, including color harmony on the gloves and the lining thickness of the legwear.

After wrapping the shoot, I carefully checked every frame to ensure the framing kept the main character front and center. Reflecting on coordinating these garments and wigs, much of the effort lies in unseen details—such as anti-slip measures at the neckline to keep the collar snug, and inserting hidden bobby pins inside the wig to keep it anchored. Though the process was demanding, seeing the final visual presentation made every bit of obsession over hair color completely worth it. This serves as my heartfelt tribute to the character, hoping to convey her pure, radiant charm through the lens.
