[Elysia Cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd: Poem of Flowing Light, The Girl Amidst Ripples and Breeze

After wrapping up this Elysia Cosplay "Poem of Flowing Light" shoot, I organized the photos to share my thoughts on the experience. Choosing this costume was primarily about its dreamy, ethereal lightness. The fabric combines lustrous satin with multi-layered tulle, casting a gentle, soft sheen under natural light. The 3D purple rose floral ornament on the chest and the layered pleats at the waist were crafted by hand to give the character real three-dimensional texture rather than a flat printed design. The white translucent tulle around the collar and cuffs was delicately tailored, offering subtle sheer elegance without being overly revealing, highlighting the soft contours of the skin.

The wig this time was specially custom-made with a pink-to-white gradient; the fibers are very soft, and to capture the character's airy silhouette, I gave the top a slightly teased, voluminous texture. Paired with white feather hair ornaments, cross clips, and purple ribbons, it creates a visually rich yet uncluttered aesthetic. For makeup, to fit her bright, innocent persona, the eye makeup used a delicate lotus-pink base, focusing mainly on curled eyelashes, complemented by light purple-pink contact lenses to make the gaze brighter and more expressive. For lip makeup, I chose a natural, juicy lip tint without harsh lip liner, striving to present a translucent, natural girl vibe for this Girl photography portrait.

The shooting location was chosen by an outdoor lakeside/infinity pool with an expansive view for this Outdoor photography session. The weather was superb, with the sky a clear, brilliant azure that contrasted gorgeously against the pink and purple hues of the dress. Because the character possesses an elven, nature-bound aura, I chose to stand barefoot in the shallow water. The water was actually a bit chilly, but stepping on the stone tiles with gentle ripples lapping at my ankles quickly immersed me into character. The photographer timed the shutter flawlessly, utilizing the natural breeze so the skirt hem and the long white ribbons formed flowing dynamic lines in the air. For poses, I avoided forced or rigid postures, focusing instead on capturing natural backward glances, casual hand gestures, and moments where the breeze tousled the hair tips, immersing myself fully into the surroundings.

In post-processing, my main goal was to achieve a high-key, luminous aesthetic. Great care was taken with exposure and lighting to elevate color brightness while preserving original garment textures. Furthermore, the short puffy skirt silhouette visually elongates the leg lines; though no stockings were worn this time, the visual focus of bare feet meeting the water surface harmonized perfectly with the overall translucent tone. When shooting this kind of character, heavy makeup or excessive editing easily strips away natural vibrancy, so retouching prioritized authentic facial skin texture with only basic liquifying adjustments. The resulting images faithfully recreated the character's ethereal, refreshing elegance in this cosplay set.

A successful photoshoot stems from meticulous upfront preparations—including costume tailoring, wig styling, makeup testing, and constant coordination throughout the shoot. Especially for characters with sheer tulle elements, the direction of the wind and where ribbons land heavily influence the final result. Fortunately, our teamwork was seamless, and the turnaround was remarkably efficient for this Honkai Impact 3rd cosplay creation.
