[Arona cosplay] Cozy Daily Life at Home in Blue Archive

Slipping into this blue and white Sailor suit outfit and taking this set of photos in a tatami-matted room truly felt like becoming Arona herself. Having time on the weekend to be a homebody at home is indeed rare and precious. The set design for this shoot carried a wonderfully cozy Japanese retro feel—the wooden shelf behind held a vintage twin-speaker radio, flanked by a few books and black speakers, while a light blue umbrella rested in the corner. Combined with warm-toned table lamps and potted greenery, the lived-in atmosphere was instantly maximized.

I'm quite satisfied with the outfit details. The oversized white sailor collar accented with blue trim lines, coupled with the prominent white bow tie at the chest, captures the character's lively yet slightly airheaded charm perfectly. The pleated short skirt on the lower half is pure white, but my favorite part is the colorful pattern along the hem—a combination of triangles, Xs, plus signs, and circles, reminiscent of buttons on a game controller. The white knee-high socks paired with this uniform also bring out an authentic 2D daily life feel.

As for the hairstyle, the wig is a very clear light blue with subtle pinkish-purple ombre highlights at the ends, creating distinct layers. The large white ribbon sitting softly on top of the head perfectly establishes the character's iconic silhouette. Adjusting the angle slightly during the shoot, the photographer's lighting hit just right to form a faint halo effect over the crown, exuding an airy, dreamlike atmosphere.

For prop interaction, we selected a few very relatable, everyday items. For instance, while sitting on the tatami mat, holding a mini bottle of white drink in hand, or casually holding up that stick figure drawing rendered in red pen. The little figure in the drawing wears headphones, smiles with curved lips, and spreads its arms wide—looking just like a cheerful stick figure. Holding it up in front of the lens gave a genuine sense of a magical connection with the character in the drawing, almost as if actually engaging in everyday banter with Sensei.

During the shoot, I tried several relaxed poses. Sitting sideways on the floor with my head tilted slightly toward the lens beautifully displayed leg and body lines. Or leaning back slightly with both hands supporting behind—that lazy, carefree state fitted the cozy home theme best. Since most of the time was spent sitting on the mat, Tatami photography allowed the white socks combined with the woven straw texture to create a visually harmonized blend.

The overall ambiance was extremely comfortable. There was none of the tension from forced posing; it felt more like moments candidly captured while unwinding at home. The blue wig, the blue-and-white sailor uniform, and the warm yellow indoor lighting merged together—the blend of cool and warm tones lent a remarkably soft, serene quality to the photographs.

In terms of costume fidelity, the bow tie knotting and skirt print proportions were executed with great care, and the photographer's timing was spot on—showing the most natural, relaxed state without dramatic exaggerated poses. Shooting this kind of 2D daily life set is truly stress-relieving; there's no need to strain over complex poses, just immersing oneself in the character and atmosphere, letting intuition guide the way. Feeling the air in the room and enjoying a rare moment of staying at home—this was precisely the state of shooting I envisioned.
