As an official makeup artist for Game For Peace, this Daenerys Targaryen cosplay styling was full of challenges starting right from the base makeup. This 7th-anniversary event meant a great deal to me, as I had to balance the game's original fantasy elements while achieving a reasonable 2D recreation in reality.

First, let's talk about the core of this makeup—facial details. To match Daenerys Targaryen's skin tone setting, I chose an ultra-matte fair foundation for the base, focusing on contouring the face to make the jawline look sharper. For the eye makeup, I used golden glitter and quicksand-textured liquid eyeshadow, creating a slightly upturned flick at the outer corners, complemented by dark brown eyeliner to enlarge the eyes. Golden water ripple and starlight patterns were drawn on the cheekbones and temples, echoing the gold tiara on the forehead. This metallic Cosplay makeup reflects light easily under the strong lamps of an anime convention, so I specifically deepened the shadows to concentrate light and shadow effects on the center of the face.

Next are the highly recognizable elf ears and horns. This pair of massive gold horns is the soul of the entire look. Since they are very heavy, I prioritized wearing comfort and stability, using double-sided transparent tape and professional scalp anchors. The elf ears were made of soft silicone, eliminating any sense of clash through edge blending and coloring.

Much effort also went into costume coordination. This black-and-gold armor combined high-density EVA and PU leather, covered with extensive metallic paints and gold foil stamping. Particularly the shoulder armor and star-shaped cutout design on the chest showcase both character strength and a touch of softness. Since there were no stockings paired, legs were directly bare, paired with a battle skirt reaching the base of the thighs, raising overall height and layering. Moving around in this full suit for half a day demanded significant physical endurance and core strength, especially with the head horns and shoulder armor requiring balance with every turn.

Finally, time for the photoshoot! The 7th-anniversary booth setup closely fit the Game For Peace theme. Though ambient light was dim, it highlighted the gold metallic reflections of the armor beautifully. During photos, I tried hard to adjust my posture to make hands-on-hips poses look confident while capturing facial light just right. Walking around the exhibition area in this outfit generated a high head-turning rate, with many passersby pulling out phones to take pictures.

Of course, completing such a stunning character presentation owes much to advance preparation and on-site standby by the makeup artist team. Due to sweating or heavy loads causing makeup melt, constant powder touch-ups and armor position adjustments were needed throughout. But seeing the final frozen frames on camera made everything feel worth it. Especially these main photos captured my face shape, gaze, and presence into the exact 'Daenerys Targaryen' feel I envisioned.
