[Amiya cosplay] Arknights Capturing Shining Moments, Playing the Violin in the Music Room

When putting on this Amiya "Capturing Shining Moments" outfit and standing inside the studio of Hugo Photography Studio, the first thing I felt was the interweaving of various textures and details in this look. The ruffles at the collar of the cotton white shirt are soft and exquisite, and the black ribbon bowknot at the neck visually forms a great closing point. The navy blue pinafore dress on the outside is very substantial; the side drawstrings and white bowknot straps not only serve a decorative purpose but also beautifully contour the waistline. The layer of white hem exposed beneath the skirt hem adds a touch of lightweight girlishness to the entire look, and paired with white short socks and black Mary Jane shoes, the overall proportions and color contrast are just right.

The theme of this shoot was highly defined, and the elements of the music room were incredibly rich. Actually, that pair of long rabbit ears hair accessories on top of my head is a part I personally love very much. To fit the overall color palette, the plush texture was chosen beautifully, and the headband with a star shape secured the rabbit ears firmly on top. Although it is the blessing of animal elements, paired with the overall uniform-style outfit, it doesn't look overly sweet, but instead carries a temperament somewhere between cute and serene, evoking the essence of a charming bunny girl.

To echo the artistic atmosphere of the "Capturing Shining Moments" theme, the studio environment was also arranged with great care. As soon as you walk in, you can see many violins suspended above, which, combined with the abundant and soft natural light filtering in from the window, is perfect for shooting a story-rich official photo set. Especially through that layer of white semi-transparent gauze curtain, the sunlight diffusely reflects all around, making the highlight texture look exceptionally translucent.

The photographer "Snake" also placed great emphasis on emotional expression during guidance. For example, the action of playing the violin is not simply striking a pose, but truly requires settling one's heart down to experience the focus during a musical performance. For the freeze-frame image in picture 4 where I hold the bow and violin, we repeatedly tried many times before successfully reflecting both the instrument's outline and the character's profile under a backlit angle. This kind of posture, requiring high coordination between limbs and expressions, brings a highly obvious improvement to the quality of the final photos.

Besides the state of playing the violin, the other photos also showcase different facets of this look. Picture 1 is my favorite full-body shot, beautifully displaying the complete cut of the costume. The white short socks and black Mary Jane shoes also happen to flatter the leg lines perfectly, and the character is just right without being squeezed by the edges of the frame, yielding a highly symmetrical and comfortable composition. Picture 2 shows me turning sideways to flip through sheet music, and picture 3 is a close-up profile shot with closed eyes. The transition between light and shadow is handled very delicately, allowing one to feel a breathing rhythm tending toward serenity.

Although the shooting process wasn't short, the overall progress was quite smooth. Because the character herself possesses a relatively introverted and assertive personality, we tried our best not to make too many exaggerated large movements during the shoot, but leaned more toward standing still, staying quiet, or just slightly turning the neck to capture the traces left by the light on the face. Because the tailoring of this outfit leans toward a retro academic style, movements that are too large could easily ruin that elegant and slender feel instead.

Regarding the makeup, light-colored contacts paired with generally light eyeshadow and a natural lip color made the expression look softer, avoiding an overly heavy makeup look. The hair is smooth deep brown straight hair with airy bangs, which, paired with the rabbit ears on top, makes the overall styling logic self-consistent. Standing beneath that sheet of suspended violins, it truly created the illusion that I was preparing to perform in some afternoon music classroom.

Actually, when I got hold of the violin bow, the feel was quite special. The gentle and warm texture of the wooden instrument body and the cotton fabric on my body formed distinct tactile feedbacks. Although the prop violin cannot truly make a sound, resting the instrument against the shoulder hollow, holding the neck with the left hand, and grasping the bow with the right hand while slightly adjusting the posture allowed me to experience a very classical sense of ritual. The most appealing aspect of this costume lies in the fact that it is not a pure fantasy style, but an outfit imbued with the breath of daily life that can melt into everyday scenarios. In a room filled with wooden chairs and shimmering curtains, compared to sharp and flamboyant stage outfits, it suits this kind of quiet and stretched presentation style much better for this instance of Violin cosplay.
