[Grace cosplay] Grace Howard of Zenless Zone Zero, charming moments of the mechanic big sister

Ever since this Grace Howard look was decided, I had been thinking about how to carry that cool, capable mechanic aura. Character designs in Zenless Zone Zero naturally carry a strong street vibe and techwear aesthetic, and Grace Howard takes this gear-packed mechanical feel to the extreme. For this photoshoot, photographer @Pulao411 and I didn't choose a complex outdoor setting, but opted for an indoor blackboard background. This clean environment with a touch of anime convention atmosphere actually allowed the character's details to be fully showcased.

Let's talk about the styling logic of this costume first. What grabs attention most in this look is the asymmetrical battle-worn feel and rich layers. First, the black tactical goggles with red lenses on the head are definitely the finishing touch, instantly maxing out the character's mystery and tactical vibe. The short black hair paired with these goggles, combined with that cold yet slightly lazy gaze in Photo 1 and Photo 2, gave a visual tension I'm very satisfied with. The neck strap is not just a decoration; together with the black sleeveless crop top, it forms a crisp cut. This top features a midriff-baring design, which really tests the model's waistline. I'm glad my condition was quite good; paired with the black tight leggings on the lower body, it elongates overall proportions and looks full of strength.

Next, let's discuss the asymmetrical design on the arms, which is one of the core elements of this costume design. One side features a black-and-white tactical sleeve cover with large white cuffs, while the other side is spliced with a black fishnet sleeve and a long white glove. This unconventional left-right asymmetry blends street rebellion into the mechanical aesthetic. When taking photos, I chose a one-knee kneeling posture in Photo 1, where the extension of the arm nicely displayed the material patching of the sleeve cover and bracers. Photo 2 features a turning side-back angle, arguably the best visual presentation of "big sister charm," which not only perfectly showcases the fishnet sleeve details on my arm, but also clearly outlines the back and side waist lines, as well as the structure of the waist gear pouch.

Speaking of the waist, it is also packed with details. Several pouches hang from the black tactical belt, complete with orange buckles and red triangular insignia. These accessories, combined with a draped corner of white fabric, immediately break the large-area monotony of black, giving an impression of being ready at any second to pull out parts to repair machines or react flexibly on the battlefield. Especially in the side-rear perspective of Photo 2, one can clearly see the orange-and-white handle and tool props slotted in the pocket; whether for taking photos or walking the floor, the texture brought by such realistic equipment is a huge plus.

In terms of photography, Pulao411 showed very experienced control over light and shadow. The indoor cool-white lighting shone down to give the fabric of the black uniform just the right amount of reflection, highlighting the silhouette of the outfit while creating a wonderful textural contrast with the skin and goggle lenses. The white chalk graffiti on the blackboard background, without stealing the spotlight, added a touch of industrial or workshop textbook atmosphere to the frame, fitting Grace's setting as an engineer and combatant perfectly.

Shooting Convention photos is actually hard work yet deeply fulfilling; you have to find clean backgrounds in complex venues while maintaining control over expressions. Personally, I love the moment of turning back sideways in Photo 2—a naturally relaxed yet powerfully imposing moment captured by the photographer. The curve of the side waist, the texture of the tactical belt, and the fishnet element on that side of the arm make it easy for fans of mecha, wasteland, or Tactical style outfit aesthetics to see the highlights of this look.

This photo share, in my view, is not merely a convention photo, but a personal practice in understanding and reshaping the character's charm. From the trimming of the wig and the angle of the goggles to the placement of all the small props in the waist pouch, every step hides my careful thought. I hope my live interpretation of Grace Howard this time feels accurate to players who know Zenless Zone Zero, while allowing passersby unfamiliar with the game to appreciate this hardcore and sexy outfit charm. Overall, this was a very pleasant shooting experience, and I'm grateful for the photographer's hard work.
