[Seia Yurizono cosplay] Summer Swimsuit Look from Blue Archive

When shooting this summer swimsuit photo set, the weather was exceptionally clear, with bright sunlight dancing on the clear pool surface. To faithfully recreate the character design from Blue Archive, we selected this open-air swimming pool as the main location, paired with the iconic white one-piece swimsuit and orange sun visor hat. To bring out an aura closer to the character, I went with a translucent base makeup, paired with pink eyeshadow and blush, along with red contact lenses to make the facial features softer and cuter. For the wig, I used this long straight blonde-and-white blended hair; to prevent it from getting soaked and flattening out, we thinned and layered the ends, which maintained an airy feel and made styling during the shoot much easier. The massive fluffy summer animal ears on top actually required a dual fastening of bobby pins and a headband, complemented by the yellow geometric ornaments behind them, to ensure they wouldn't shift under outdoor breezes or constant walking.

In terms of the outfit, the white high-neck cut-out one-piece swimsuit not only emphasizes a refreshing summer vibe but also adds visual depth through the cut-out detailing on the chest. The pink reflective sunglasses hanging on the front served as a highlight of the styling, acting both as a decorative accent and a photoshoot prop under harsh light, echoing nicely with the pool's reflective surface. During the shoot, the photographer suggested using the metal handrails by the poolside as a support to help my body settle into a more natural and relaxed posture. The first photo captures the exact moment I stepped up the stairs from the water, tilting my head slightly toward the camera while adjusting my hat brim with one hand—this spontaneous snapshot gives the frame a wonderfully lively atmosphere.

For this type of swimsuit cosplay photography, I have a few personal tips to share. First, thorough sun protection is essential, as outdoor UV rays are strong and extended shooting can easily sunburn the face and shoulders. Second is waterproofing the props and gear—for instance, keeping the wig from getting fully submerged so it remains manageable, controlling angles carefully, and utilizing camera depth of field to create a splash atmosphere. I was actually quite nervous on the day of the shoot because of the people coming and going around the pool, but once I truly immersed myself in the character's mindset and imagined her summer routine, the awkwardness gradually melted away. The details of this outfit—such as the red collar patchwork and waistline design—are very crisp and clean, creating a simple yet striking contrast of pure white and red that looks fantastic against the azure backdrop of the pool.

Looking back from a first-person perspective, this attempt was an exceptionally delightful outdoor location experience. Although moving around outdoors with bulky animal ears and accessories was a bit cumbersome, seeing the bright, translucent, and vibrant summer quality in the finished photos made every bit of preparation worthwhile. As a cosplayer, every faithful recreation of a classic scene is an effort to bring the beauty of the work to fans who share the same love through one's own portrayal. I hope these photos showcase not only faithful costumes, makeup, and props, but also the character's relaxed, easygoing side beside the cool waters. Without rigid, forced poses, simply basking in the sunshine in a natural state was enough to touch my own heart.
