This black glossy jacket paired with a pink bow and cat ears really photographs amazingly well against the dark-toned background of the bar and leather chair. This set of official photos was shot in Guangdong back in May; the weather was already starting to get hot, but in order to recreate the character's texture, I still wore the jacket. Actually, the shooting focus of this picture set lies in how to utilize limited scenes and props to showcase the character's charm.
The jacket's material is that kind of glossy finish, and under the studio lighting, the reflection effect is exceptionally good. In post-production, I barely adjusted the colors; the original photos' texture was already fantastic. The inner black bodysuit and garter belt loops are essential elements for enhancing the overall styling feel. When we were shooting, we heavily utilized that brownish-red vintage button-tufted leather chair and the wine cabinet behind it. The liquor bottles in the wine cabinet shimmered under the dim light, matching the circular neon light ring behind, creating a cyberpunk yet slightly vintage bar atmosphere.
When posing, I tried to make myself look a bit lazy. For instance, sitting on the leather chair with crossed legs, or simply lifting a leg up to rest on the edge of the bar counter. This action actually tests core strength quite a bit, but the captured result is exceptionally good, magnificently elongating the leg lines and making the leg proportions look even better.
Another small trick is utilizing hand movements and gaze. For instance, gently hooking the collar with a hand, or resting the chin on one hand, with the gaze carrying a hint of trance and coolness, avoiding looking directly at the camera intentionally to capture that casual, carefree moment. The photographer was also great at snapshot capturing; many dynamic poses were actually struck inadvertently during our chatting process. The bar counter is a fantastic interactive prop; you can lean on it or sit on the edge like I did. I recommend friends shooting in a similar style to boldly try different sitting and reclining postures, bringing out the advantages of the leg lines while utilizing the jacket's half-falling-off feel to create an effortless sexiness.
Regarding props, that glowing ring light is a major bonus; it can serve as a background light source, outlining the subject's silhouette. During studio shoots, one must pay attention to the warm and cool matching of lighting, just like this time where the warm light of the wine cabinet and the cool white light of the face formed a brilliant contrast, giving the frame more layering. For the makeup part, to match the overall black-red-pink color tone, the eye makeup utilized a reddish tone series and was paired with pink circle lenses, making the gaze more penetrating. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this set of pictures; they capture both the character's traits and are filled with a unique atmospheric vibe.
