[Yanami Anna cosplay] Too Many Losing Heroines!: This Rainbow Suits Her So Well

During the main photo session, we unexpectedly encountered a rainbow positioned right above the ahoge of my wig, making it look as though it was firing straight out of it. Yesterday, the Manga cloud I had waited a year and a half for finally appeared; combined with these altocumulus clouds and low-angle warm light, shooting a Casual cosplay look at an industrial dock created a compelling contrast.

This Yanami Anna cosplay outfit actually features quite a few details, especially the ribbon tie crafted with a double-layered structure in crisp, rigid material so it won't easily lose its shape in strong winds or broad movements. The pleated skirt silhouette brings out that daily school uniform vibe, which heavily tests tailoring and fit. To better match the anime's aesthetic, I intentionally brightened my skin tone and intensified the highlights in my pupils to make my eyes look more lively. To ensure the ahoge kept its shape in the strong riverside wind, multiple types of hairspray were applied at the root with repeated styling to prevent it from collapsing.

Selecting the riverside dock with corrugated metal and cold railings as the backdrop worked surprisingly well with the pleated skirt. The photographer was exceptionally skilled at finding angles—during that brief one minute when the rainbow appeared, snapshots were taken right before I could even strike a rigid pose, and such candid snaps felt much truer to the character than forced posing. The second pose holding a burger was also fun and true to her foodie personality. Toward dusk, lighting shifted rapidly as the setting sun shone directly across the river surface, creating a wonderful dialogue between the water reflections and the sky's clouds for the third snapshot.

Pre-shoot preparation was quite demanding, primarily tracking weather forecasts, as these Manga cloud formations only appear under specific seasonal and meteorological conditions. In terms of lighting, afternoon light is relatively harsh; to prevent heavy shadows across the face, we specifically chose a side-backlit angle supplemented by reflector fill light, enhancing facial dimension while retaining softness. Post-processing was kept minimal since the ambient lighting was already superb, only slightly tuning sky contrast and background highlights to preserve this realistic, everyday naturalness.

Being able to produce a photo set like this today wasn't easy, and I'm very grateful for the photographer's patient guidance in helping me find my most comfortable state in this environment. Casual Outdoor photography isn't merely standing there in ordinary clothes; it's about movements and expressions that naturally blend into the environment. This photo set is thoroughly relaxed, perfectly documenting the character's everyday charm along with our serendipitous encounter with wonderful weather.
