[Kimika Tachibana cosplay] Uniform Girl from Wonderful Everyday Down the Rabbit-Hole, Strolling down Discontinuous Stairs

Putting on this modified white sailor outfit jacket with cape-like double sleeves, carefully smoothing out the red tie on my chest, and securing the golden wig with blonde twin tails while pulling out a few strands of bangs and sideburns for accentuation. To match the character's temperament, I chose light-colored contact lenses and clean, translucent base makeup without heavy colors. Since deciding to do this Kimika Tachibana cosplay, I wanted to capture that quality of drifting outside everyday reality as much as possible.

The details of the costume are recreated very accurately, especially the black-and-white emblem pattern on the cuffs and back. The black lines edged in white and the red tie form a high-contrast visual focus. On the lower half, a dark pleated skirt is paired with over-the-knee black stockings and glossy patent leather platform loafers, which not only visually elongate leg lines but also add weight to this fresh uniform, keeping the overall styling from looking thin.

Two different scenes were tested for this Outdoor photography session. The first was an outdoor metal staircase where the diamond-pattern anti-slip texture on step surfaces presented a cold, harsh industrial feel under the light. The second was a high rooftop balcony against a background of dense city apartment buildings. These two environments with strong geometric lines and cool tones created a striking clash with my white uniform, fitting the collage-like and alien atmosphere of the original work.

A lot of time was spent finding angles and adjusting poses during shooting. The first choice was sitting on the stairs, legs naturally extending forward slightly, hands supporting on both sides of the body—this showcased the over-the-knee black stockings and patent leather platform shoes well while keeping myself at the frame's visual center. Shots standing and leaning sideways against the railing aimed to capture that lost, wandering gaze. Kimika Tachibana carries very complex emotions; that sense of loneliness, being misunderstood by the outside world and existing solely in her mental realm, is the core emotional expression of this photo set.

Sunlight on the shooting day was strong and harsh, so shadows on the metal stairs were intentionally utilized to soften facial light. Post-processing didn't involve drastic color shifts, merely slightly reducing contrast and saturation to give the overall frame a low-saturation matte texture.

The title Wonderful Everyday Down the Rabbit-Hole itself carries chaotic and fantastical colors. To present this sense of discontinuity, I deliberately tried different positions and actions in the same scene. Standing on the rooftop in this outfit looking at distant building clusters really gave a brief illusion of detaching from real life. Using cosplay as a medium to interpret such complex text felt like a very interesting endeavor. These frames frozen by the lens serve as a faithful archive of my anime life in this real world. Great care went into arranging details and finding perspectives for this shoot, hoping to convey the work's unique atmosphere as completely as possible.
