[Goldenglow Cosplay] Sanrio Collaboration Convention Photos: Here Comes the Bouncing Little Kitten!

The convention photos from last weekend are finally sorted out, which feature this Goldenglow Sanrio collaboration look. Many people ask how to take such clean photos when the convention venue is so crowded; actually, it mostly relies on the photographer controlling the angles and focal lengths, along with lighting coordination, to make the subject stand out more.

Let's first talk about the overall outfit coordination this time; this costume has tons of details. The pink long wig looks very voluminous with a slight curl on top, using a massive red plaid bow on top of the head as the visual focus, with fluffy round ears adorned on both sides, and a red gemstone decoration embedded right below the bow. The neckline features a circle of white lace, along with a small brooch hanging from it. The main body of the dress has a white base, spliced with layers upon layers of numerous red semi-transparent mesh ruffles that extend all the way from the shoulders to the skirt hem. Even the cuffs feature a red-and-white checkered puff sleeve design, making the entire look appear very fluffy and cute.

Aside from the clothing, the accessories are the finishing touches. On my hands are white fingerless gloves with light wrinkles on top, making them very breathable to wear. The white tight striped over-the-knee socks worn on the legs achieve an excellent effect of elongating proportions, with two red bows intentionally tied below the knees as embellishments. Paired on my feet are light pink platform chunky-heeled shoes; the height of these shoes is just right to make the entire silhouette look slender without being exceptionally tiring for the feet, capable of supporting a full half-day walk in the convention hall. There is also a fixed plush tail at the waist, featuring a gradient orange and white fur, swaying back and forth behind me as I walk, perfectly echoing the ears on my head, giving me the genuine feeling of being a plush little cat.

Shooting was actually quite tiring, especially in such a large exhibition hall where the top light source is exceptionally strong, posing higher demands on photographic equipment. For the person being photographed, one also has to constantly adjust the facial orientation to avoid shadows caused by direct overhead light, preventing deep shadows on the face. When shooting the jumping photo, I was very worried about losing balance or the skirt flying too high and causing exposure, but fortunately, the lining of this dress is very thick and the petticoat is stiff enough, leaving me with enough energy to maintain expression management upon landing. The two images sitting on the ground carry a strong sense of interaction, primarily through my coordination with that massive Hello Kitty plush doll. The doll is very soft and big; the moment I held it, my entire body relaxed, and even my gaze softened. During snapshots, the photographer had me reach out my hand or turn around sideways; these actions must be done naturally without being too stiff, and the tension of the arms and legs also needs to be controlled within a cute range.

For this Sanrio collaboration look, I did some reference research in advance, trying my best to reproduce the character's soft, sweet, and slightly energetic traits as a pink-haired sweet girl. At the convention venue, many passing fellow enthusiasts would stop by to praise the outfit for looking beautiful; although it was occasionally a bit embarrassing due to the dense crowd, the overall experience was fantastic, enabling me to confidently showcase my meticulously prepared attire.

All the photos look for a balance between static and dynamic states, aiming to express the live liveliness while maintaining a certain sense of atmosphere and accuracy. This makeup and styling took about two hours; especially the wig styling and the organization of skirt details took quite an effort. Looking back now, the shoot required continuous jumping, sitting up, and straightening out the skirt hem; though physically draining, fortunately, the lighting in the final photos was on point, and the layers of the skirt and the three-dimensional depth of the tail were very clear. Regarding the makeup details, I am very satisfied with the pink contact lenses and eye makeup this time. The eyeshadow used earth tones and light pink palettes for transitions, the eyelashes were applied naturally, and highlighters were emphasized to brighten the inner corners of the eyes and aegyo-sal, ensuring the eyes stayed spirited even in places with cluttered light sources like a convention. Both high-angle overhead shots and low-angle upward shots were tried; high-angle shots capture a cute feel, while low-angle ones pull the proportions of legs, socks, and shoes to just the right balance.

This time when going out, my biggest worry was actually whether the clothing would be too thick and heavy, making me look bulky, but the layers of the petticoat perfectly held up the undulations of every single ruffle. When walking, the skirt hem would float gently, combined with the jumping movements, offering a highly lightweight visual effect. The daylight and the overhead lights inside the hall formed a contrast, making the red and pink colors of the clothes on my body more saturated. Finishing this set can be considered drawing a satisfying conclusion to this weekend's convention experience.
