When shooting Yae Miko this time, what I wanted to capture the most was her subtle vibe of "clearly seeing through everything, yet still willing to play along with you." The purple thunder patterns and red rope knots on the costume have many details, requiring repeated position adjustments during wear to ensure symmetry. Especially the iconic Vision pendant on her chest—it took a long time to decide on the material, as it needed to recreate the metallic texture from the game without being too heavy to affect the shoot. The Pink wig was the focus this time. Yae's fluffy pink long curly hair took nearly two hours just for combing and styling. To make it look like it had a natural curve brushed by the wind, we specially used a blower to blow air from the front-lateral side during the shoot. Combined with hand movements, we barely managed to capture a few moments where the hair strands flew without blurring wildly. For the Cherry blossom landscaping within the scene adorned with Japanese-style clothing, I intentionally chose cherry blossom branches as props, because Miko always gives the impression of sipping tea under a cherry tree, looking calmly at the world. However, I didn't want the photos to be too solemn, so I deliberately used brighter lighting to give the petals and the edges of the hair strands a translucent look. Actually, the hardest part of the shoot was the gaze—her fox-like purple eyes needed to reveal both laziness and a faint insight. I practiced in front of the mirror several times to finally find a bit of the feeling. During post-processing, I also tried my best to preserve the true texture of the skin without excessive airbrushing, because Miko's beauty is never that flawless, artificial refinement, but rather a kind of composure accompanied by a powerful aura. Although this set of photos cannot be called perfect, every single one is the result of the photographer and me repeatedly adjusting angles and light positions. From hair and makeup to the staging, everything stays as close to the character's own temperament as possible. I also hope that friends who love Genshin Impact and Yae Miko can see our little efforts in this work.
