[Reimu Hakurei Cosplay] Touhou Project classic red-and-white shrine maiden outfit outdoor photoshoot - Image 1

Everyone, shake your phones left and right to check out my new special effect! This is a new attempt utilizing the naked-eye 3D function of Xiaohongshu. To match this dynamic effect, I deliberately chose an outfit with very high color contrast. The outfit in the photos is the classic Touhou Project Reimu Hakurei styling; the red-and-white color-blocked shrine maiden uniform is extremely eye-catching under natural outdoor light.

Let's talk about the styling details of this outfit first. The red-and-white color scheme is the core of this look. The upper body adopts a bright red sleeveless design, with white lace trim and ruffles added to the neckline. The red edge of the neckline is dotted with golden line art, creating a great sense of layering under the light. The huge red bow on top of the head is the visual center of gravity for the entire look; multiple layers of white lace are sewn along the edges, and the center is decorated with gold ribbon and a few pink and red fabric flowers. The hair ornaments hanging down on both sides feature red beads, which sway gently when walking, matching this dynamic special effect quite well. To increase the layering of the arms, I wore white ruffled sleeve covers with yellow ribbons and red flower knots, making the overall silhouette look fuller.

In terms of props, what I'm holding in my hand is the iconic long-handled gohei, with a black pole paired with white folded paper streamers (shide). The jagged edges of the paper streamers render an exceptional light-and-shadow texture when the sunlight hits them. To capture this clear and three-dimensional effect, we spent a long time searching for angles in front of the building's off-white exterior wall. The sunlight that day came from the side, and the natural light formed soft shadows on the face. By slightly lowering the exposure compensation, the red clothes could look more stable and avoid overexposure. Background blurring eliminated some distant figures and messy lines, concentrating the visual focus entirely on the character and props.

For the makeup and hair part, to fit the character, I wore long straight black hair with blunt bangs, and the strands drifted naturally in the wind, adding a touch of vitality to the frame. The eye makeup used red-brown tones, with the outer corners of the eyes slightly elongated, making the gaze look more penetrating under the sunlight. Because the clothing has a very high saturation, the makeup needed to increase some facial dimension; the transition between highlights and shadows shouldn't be too stiff, otherwise it would look flat in front of the lens.

The overall atmosphere of this shoot is relatively quiet, without using exaggerated poses. Since the red-and-white color scheme is already eye-catching enough, coupled with the drape of the props, maintaining an upright yet slightly languid standing posture is already very recognizable. During outdoor conventions or location shoots, these lighting conditions actually test the clothing materials quite a bit, as lace and fabric easily lose details under strong light. Therefore, the shooting time was chosen around 3 to 4 PM, when the lighting angle is lower and the light is relatively soft. Paired with this 3D stereoscopic effect that can be seen by shaking the phone, it gives flat photos a bit more spatial sense. I hope that when everyone tries this special effect, you will also pay more attention to the matching of lighting and clothing colors.
